I have had to use my mobile for the net when travelling. To date the only .mobi site that I have found useful is Namepros.mobi as I know that it reduces the cost of visiting Namepros and loads faster. (I pay per MB)

I have not found Googles search function useful for mobi sites and am skeptical about the relevance of search on mobile devices. I think directories may be more relevant for .mobi sites at this stage.

What positive and negative experiences to people have of mobi sites that they have found useful.

Useful Sites:
Namepros.mobi

Great OP idea, IMHO.

How many sites are we allowed to mention as a maximum?
B-)

I see your point, and even though I really, really want to talk about development you asked us not to so I won't.

Not to toot my own horn, our team's recalledtoys.mobi is very helpful as many retailers have not pulled recalled toys off the shelves. This feed comes directly from the government recall list.

Other fast-loading sites with .com equivalents that I have personally used include:
weather.mobi
espn.mobi
businessweek.mobi
foxnews.mobi

I would also encourage you to check the thread of developed .mobi's here and print them out.

There are some excellent .mobi site directories that can lead you to other working sites.

Still biting my tongue about encouraging people to develop - oops, too late!

50 sounds like a good limit to me. Please only include .mobi sites that have been useful, not ones that sound useful and you haven't used.

I surf a lot with my HP IPAQ PDA, and I don't yet surf much with my current PDA phone as it's not the one with wifi (bandwidth cost).
For PDA, I usually go to any websites that I go on my computer. However, I prefer it when the site is made for mobile browser though as sometimes it's a hassle scrolling side to side with my stylus.
I don't have too much freedom with my phone at the moment. I mostly check my emails on it. As for .mobi sites, I like to go to espn.mobi :)
I want a phone like HTC Advantage X7501 or iphone.

I dont even type in website addresses on my phone or PDA.

I go to google and search there.

It is only fault on Namepros' part that the site doesnt automatically detect a mobile device.

Bingo! I predicted from the beginning that this would be the majority of mobile traffic, not type ins. That's exactly why I put such a high emphasis on SE placement. That's certainly my mobile surfing habit as well. And it sucks that the majority of SE's don't just list mobile friendly sites. All in good time. I'm sure it's on the way.

And yes, I do use some mobi sites on a regular basis. Gotta admit that most are my own. And from the looks of my traffic many others are as well. My estimated bookmarks are way up there. I use Pilot.mobi for directions

Will be using recalledtoys this weekend! Very handy site for this time of year.

I'm actually considering switching to Bank Of America to use their mobile banking. Looks great. Something I would defiantly use.

I'm a slow, old school mobile typist who can't input good enough for forums :'( It would take me all day to complete this post on a mobile

There are many good .mobi sites out there, but the only one I visit on a regular basis on my phone is namepros.mobi.
