... so there MUST BE A REASON the dotmobis were still available in June '07

What are the names you like/value

I think you just wasted a ton of money. Most likely all are worthless future drops. Stick to the aftermarket and try to get a refund for those if your registrar allows and its not too late. You also have some names with serious TM issues like NBA, MLB, etc.

What a black history site that would make. I am such an R&B fan and Apollo Theatre fan also. They had their own record label for a while. I collect old 78 rpm records and usually prize those labels.

Harlem is undergoing quite the resurgence and has been for a few years.

Unfortunately for me I missed out (intentionally) the landrush and sorry now because of the Geo implications and usage.

Thanks for your thoughts, but i took alot of time and asked alot of questions about the way .mobi would be used.

From a commercial point of view these are excellent names. If you were looking to buy shoes say you would type in shoe sales. If you wanted a 4x4 you would type in 4x4 sales. if you wanted toys you would type in toy sales. If you wanted to buy porn you would type in porn sales.

This IMHO is how people will use their mobiles.

If you wanted to what sales are in LA, you would type in la sales.

You have to look at it from a users point of view :imho:

good insite circa thank you. i actually tried to get all of the 5 burrows in nyc when i started to register all of these names. this was the only one left. there was actually a lot of good well know cities left to be taken when i started looking. as you can see by my list i did not focus my energy on purchasing city names. i bought biloxi because it is heavily populated with casinos. i tried to focus the best i could on domains that are going to generate a lot of potential revenue. casinos definitely do that. i would know lol . i tried not to buy exaggerated names that only focus on small small markets. my biggest question i asked myself and kept asking myself when making these purchases was "why would someone connect to the internet from their cell phone?" why? i know why i would. the 100 other people i asked the same question to told me why they would too. so i tried to by the ones that kept poping back up. i know some of you are saying i think you asked the wrong people on some of my names.lol.
i think that a lot of people here, when they started making their invesments, stopped asking that question to themselves. after a while, if you dont keep focused on that question,then every name you think of is gonna sound good to you. the worst part is that in the long run, they aren't worth anything and they aren't going to make you money. that is why we are all here. money. we need to think about this long term, and stopped beating the market to death with stupid names because if we don't, then we are all going to bankrupt ourselves and bankrupt the mobi market and i don't want that to happen. i'm not saying the domains i own are superior, but i think some people went a little too overboard and didnt think about the big picture.

Exactly the approach needed and not seeing too much of today as you later pointed out.

I was not one of the land rush reggers and did not hand reg a mobi until mid January.

The point is, I studied this market and trend and soon found myself asking the same questions you pointed out. THAT is why mobi is needed...why would someone connect to the internet and why is it such a hassle to scroll through a web page on a cell using a .com?

Once I did my own research, monitoring of the trends (and sneaking on the forums) I realized that this was a viable product and format.

Hey, not to downplay Biloxi as that is also a favorite haunt on the way to New Orleans. Great fun town, still recovering from Katrina. It is an often overlooked with all the other popular spots but those that know Biloxi really KNOW Biloxi. I know I've never won in Biloxi. And I've never won in New Orleans. Kicked ass in St. Louis!

Anyways, great names. Harlem is so nice, easy to say, rich history, and superb, imo.
