Hi

I would really like to know how .mobi is going as far as promotion/advertising is concerned in your country? (TV/RADIO/BILLBOARD Advertising)
I live in Melbourne-Australia and I have not yet heard or seen anything being advertised in the papers or even on TV!. I know it's early days and I don't expect a sudden rush but..

This thread might give everyone some idea on how .mobi is fairing around the world. What have you seen in your country!?

.mobi USA

.mobi is causing a significant buzz in America. First it was only amongst domain name heads, like the people using these forums. However, the word around "regular" peple is indeed growing in the states. More articles are being written and more commentary on news shows and such. I will make an educated guess and say it's taking off.....just a matter of time. Once .mobi becomes popular in USA, naturally other countries such as you goodfellows downunder will probably follow. No worries.

Not a lot of news, articles or developed web sites in my home country Romania. However I noticed that most of the .mobi names were snatched eventhough in many cases the other extensions (.net, .org, .info) are still available. That says a lot about how people look at the future of mobile internet.

From Main Street New Hampshire, USA:
I asked two people (separately) over the weekend - both work for Verizonโ„ข in different, yet upwardly mobile (forgive the pun), positions - about their general thoughts for the .MOBI extension ... their replies were the exact same!

"Jeff, what the heck are you even talking about?!?"

I think they thought I had hit the sauce too hard while watching the football games ... :guilty: :snaphappy:

Just their two sense.

I did see a Nokia Ad on the Discovery Channel, promoting MobiFilms (some competition running to see which persons could best produce a Movie on their Nokia 'MOBI'le phone)-but I wouldn't really call it a .mobi tld promotion, though the word mobi was used strongly in their Adcampaign.
