.mobi accounts HELP

I have a question for you... I recently have been searching and purchasing .mobi accounts. But with that comes a hard lession...and I could use your advice. I purchased recently in the past couple of days .mobi accounts. For example this is what I did and I am unsure if this is illegal or not but since I am asking the question it still bothers me... but I went to staplescenter.com... then went to purchase staplescenter.mobi.... most of these mobi accounts have the company or restarants name in the dotcom...

Is that illegal? If so - what should I do with these .mobi accounts if this is wrong? Should I cancel them - hold off until someone contacts me... or are these sites legal?

Ideas... I just want to do what is right and not get my butt in trouble.

You should cancel the name. Staplescenter is a pro sports arena as I am sure you already know. Registering business names is infringing on someone elses brand that they have spent time and money to promote and market. I would drop the name and only look for generic terms (sportsarenas.mobi). Good luck!

I agree with Keithmt.. Registering domain names that infringe upon trademarks is risky business. If I were to register YankeeStadium.mobi I'd be taking a huge plunge into an ocean of hot water. Chances are you'll receive a Cease and Desist letter, if anything, or a notice from the trademark owner requesting a transfer of ownership of the domain.

Indeed, this one might be easy (I say "might" because someone will play devil's advocate either way ).

And I can't think of any good-faith uses you could have, nor do I think it's a particularly good domain name to match with .mobi, so your best bet may be to just let them go.

However, check first (If you registered the domain name 4 days or less ago) if your registrar will give you a portion of your registration fee back (I'm not sure their policies on .mobi, but at least some registrars will give money back on .com's).
