HealthInsurance.com (15 characters) recently sold for 8M dollars. That's $533,000 a character
Obvioiusly I'm being facetious
, but it makes a point
Years ago I started a medical billing business that I called Accounts Receivable Management Corporation (38 characters), and we called it ARMANCO for short. After a few years we re-branded to become AcSel, a name I came up with, but I paid an advertising agency $2,000 to oversee the process.....duh! Acsel is still around today, but like when we rebranded in 1982, it still means nothing. On another note, I started another business ContactUSA in 1990, and I actually owned the .com domain for it until it shuttered its doors in 2000. Sadly, I wish I had kept it
I recently registered a 20 character domain similar to MillionDollarDomains, but with a third word that starts with an "S" that pretty much says it all imho. It's initials are "MDS", so just for fun I keyed MDS.com and it led me to a company, "Momentum Data Systems" that started in 1987 or about the time the .com system started. Ironically, NameWorth values MDS.com at 3M, however it values my 20 character three word domain at less than <$500. I ask you, how screwed up is that
???
Anyone have any what I refer to as "Slogan" domains? I mean slogans like "Fly the Friendly Skies" or "Like a Good Neighbor"? You probably have a few million dollar slogan domains in your portfolio and don't know it
How long is too long??? Thoughts?
