I just got back home and noticed my computer was restarted by microsoft. A window message displayed MICROSOFT installed a security updated to protect my computer. Since the birth of Microsoft Windows, I've never seen anything like this happen on my computer with out me approving the changes or installation.

This just goes to show you, Microsoft has the power to install or change settings on your computer with out your approval and reset your computer. Who knows, what they did or what they wanted.

This new install has violated my rights, has anyone else experienced this today?

hmmm...that's weird. How would they do that?

I got this too. Was in the middle of some very important work (WRITING A BOOK). I got 10-20 pages ahead of my last save, and then it shut down. Didn't save anything! This is freaking ridiculous!

If you do not want that be done why don't refuse get updated automatically?

It didn't even tell me it was updating. I was on my computer for about 4 hours, and it never once said anything about updating. I was sitting there, and everything started to close, then it said it had to update or something. I don't even have auto update on - this may have been a mandatory update or something.

Thats because Microsoft initiated the upload from their mainframe. All my settings are set on permission, with out permission nothing can be installed - just as our friends states, the system was hacked and restarted with out users approval.

Something is going on and Microsoft needs to explain! Our rights have been violated! Who knows what they installed.....

it's normal for my computer to automatically grab the updates based on my settings but they never install until I actually hit the install updates and then shut down button so I was tripping out when I walked out of the room and came back 20 or so minutes later and saw a complete reboot, guess they felt this update was "critical" and took away the optional, have to wait and see if the next "critical update" automatically changes the default search engine from google to bing as microsoft always knows what's best for us. :hehe:
