Cool name!
I cant help but think if you use this you're not going to be the only one notified.
Same reason I'll never type any domain I'm interested in at the top of NP. No offense, and it seems cool, but I'm not going to ever risk tipping more people off about a potential domain target. I don't even like doing too many who-is lookups on a domain.
I agree at first glance but I think given the large number of sophisticated players in the space, it is a false economy: choosing to pass on useful tools because you worry it might tip off others leaves you vulnerable to someone else who is already interested in the name getting an edge on you by using these tools.
For something like the NamePros search bar, sure, there is no value to an investor in searching for a domain there,
even if there's no chance of it tipping anyone off because you don't
gain anything from doing it. For a system that instantly notifies you on changes to the domain, that could be very valuable to know that information first.
You only have to look at expired domain name auctions to see how little interest there is in most domains. Our targets are either unique because nobody else shares our vision for the domain or our targets are not unique at all and we're competing with many others, in which case, any tool-based advantage we can get is valuable.
Ultimately, it is personal preference, so I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, and if being so guarded about your targets is benefiting your bottom line, that's great, just presenting an alternate way of thinking about this!
