Can't tell if they own metapolis or not. If they don't, they might have to acquire it or register it in another extension or just go with a subdomain of the parent company (something like metapolis.zilliqa.com)

Can we say now that other companies will use the word META and not be afraid to be linked with Meta (FB) ?

Not legal advice but my opinion on here has always been that FB does not own everything meta.

Like someone put it earlier trademarking meta is like trademarking other prefixes like uni or mega or trans or hyper. It doesn't stop anyone from branding with uni + keyword simply because a company has the trademark for uni in a particular class.

As far as I see it, as long as you're not registering names like metaquest, metaoculus, metagram, metawhatsapp, metafacebook, etc or other keywords that are clear infringements on FB's mark and other marks, you'll be fine.

People forget that there are other companies out there with meta this, meta that, trademarks that can also come after you if you are infringing on their rights.
