Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

MetaverseHub.com

Welcome! :)

I believe things will not be as bad as some of us are saying.

It's like expecting FB to repeat the action of the past that put it in a very tight corner. They've acknowledged that the Metaverse will involve a lot of companies and will definitely do certain things differently.

As always low quality regs will be dropped, but good quality domains will sale for good amount.

Just my humble opinion which I believe will soon be confirmed with great sales.

While sales are still coming I have a question from a marketing perspective.

Let's just say you brand yourself as

Metapay or metapayments or metashopping and so on.
And Facebook decided to add products in these names and do something like

Meta.com/payments

Will having them owning a product with the same name is good or bad for you?
I think it is a bad idea to brand like this because people may think that your brand is associated with Facebook. When they eventually know that your brand has no relationship with Facebook, they will consider your brand incredible and probably as a fraudulent business. You will need to put a lot of marketing effort to clarify and educate people that your brand is independent of Facebook, but it is very hard to succeed because you cannot change the similarity of the brand names and first impression matters a lot.

Hope my opinion is helpful to you.

We are free to use any ingenious brands that haven't been used for MetaVerse yet, just have to make sure that the Chinese don't steal our ideas.

IMO

Metaverse is just a cool word that companies want to use to push services. I doubt VR will be a place in the way they illustrate in movies like Ready Player One. Most people want to communicate quickly with text and voice in 99% of communication scuenarios bc it's fast and efficient. People like to go virtual when they're playing games and socializing virtually in some cases, but in most cases they prefer not to go through the trouble of putting on a head set to go virtual. Virtual worlds that are not for games will have moments when they'll be collecting dust, or avatars will be just standing around as people are typing like what we see already in the lobbies of games lol...

There are more practical uses of Augmented Reality and it allows you to enhance the social scenarios you already have in real life.

AR (sometimes called MR when using a screen instead of glass) will bring more value to real life than VR and AR doesn't need "Metaverse" for marketing, so you will see some people and companies promoting AR without using the word "Metaverse", despite the fact that many include AR in the definition of Meraverse.

WWhen you are in an AR scenario you are using tech to enhance reality. It's not a virtual world, so ordinary people may find it impractical to use "the Metaverse" to describe their real life experiences choosing instead to say that sonething is in AR. But the AR service they use may self describe as a MV company.

So there are many ways this could play out. Keywords like XR, AR and VR still have value. My advice is not to out all of your eggs in one basket pumping all of your money in Metaverse(Meta, MV, MVerse, Verse, etc) related names. There will be a plethora of terms to describe the immersive technologies we use.
