While sales are still coming I have a question from a marketing perspective.

Let's just say you brand yourself as

Metapay or metapayments or metashopping and so on.
And Facebook decided to add products in these names and do something like

Meta.com/payments

Will having them owning a product with the same name is good or bad for you?

it will be good, doubles the market applicability for your name...it's like Facebook doing free advertising for you

if you own metashopping.com, and facebook starts having a storefront Meta.com/shopping, your name can apply to Facebook or shopping in the larger Metaverse. FB may want to buy your name just to remove any confusion.

There were possibly a hundred thousand Meta domains regged in a one month time span and its still going!

Oh yeah I misunderstood... Of course most quality domains of any niche won't drop.... This is the story of any valuable commodity. But I do believe this hype cycle, like all before it will come to a close and you will start to see some decent names dropping. I do believe the supply is far higher than the demand and the demand will lower as the brandscape (hey, I just coined a word lol, not regging it though) becomes more saturated with metaverse related names, more cos will want to stand out with brands that are different. This will lower the demand and even more quality domains will drop. That won't mean they aren't quality anymore though.

It's the same story with every hyped niche on here. Nothing I'm saying is new.

Just stating that good names for both would be scarcer, one more than the other. But, generally, like I stated somewhere on this forum, I see many subpar names dropping in this niche come next year whether meta, mv, metaverse, mvrs, mvs etc

It always happen in every niche. More names will drop than sold. Nothing surprising. Some of you need to stop all these repetitions. Its boring and useless and possibly coming from the angle of jealousy towards @Elad n names.
