I know we have a few knowledgeable people from the Philippines here on the forum and I'd like to ask you guys a question. :)

What's Media Design like in the Philippines, is there a high demand (in web & graphic design, advertising, etc.)?

After I graduate I'm thinking of heading over to Philippines and working there for a year or two. Am I crazy? :(

I'm looking to buy a home in the Philippines once my house here sells - I'll be hiring locals.

Hey Sabz, I just spent 3 months in the Philippines. Weblord and others could tell you better than I about the economy, but I went over for an internship for my major in college (or "course" as they like to call it). I'm a Community Development major - nothing to do with domains/web design. But anyway... I had to do a lot of research before I went.

Based on my research and my experience, I think I agree with Weblord. Your crazy. 25% of the working force of the Philippines works overseas because jobs are not very prevalent.

Roy - Bear in mind that Filipino law bans foreigners from being able to own land / houses. You'd have to rent.

Also, you can go for free for 29 days (provided your in America or another country that they allow "non visa entries" from. After that you have to pay $30 USD for a visa up to 59 days. After that, visas get really expensive, and you have to renew every so often and pay a lot.

Just my 2 cents.
