Mass searching for domain name availability?

Hi

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere and I've missed it!

But, I've always wondered if there's a way of doing a mass search of available names?

As an example - word has it that all of the LLL. mobi names have now been registered, how would you know that or find out something like that?

Can you run a report somewhere that you can check available .com or .info names, as opposed to searching one at a time via your registrar's homepage?

Many registrars offer bulk check. For example:

http://domainsite.com/check_bulk.php

You can check up to 50 names at a time, just put each name on it's own line.

I believe your asking if its possible to narrow down a set of Criteria.

Example - 3 Letters (no -, #'s) pick a TLD (.mobi)

and check to see if any our available using that criteria? If this is what your asking, unfortunately I do not believe such a website exists, someone correct me if Im wrong, that would be quite a valueable tool. I believe in this case the work would have to be done manually.

You've both helped clear this up.

The bulk checker is really useful, my registrar only does one at a time - painful!! So I'll definitely use that one.

And obviously there's also no magic system that I've missed out on which would do it all of this for me in one fail swoop!

You can try web-page.info. It's not a bulk check but it checks in 6 tlds as you type.

I like that domain checking tool you got there... very useful.

You can try PCNames.com or Domain Name Analyzer (google it).

PcNames gives you availibility as you type and also has a 3-letter and 4-letter availibility finder (not for .mobi though).
