Making yourself or a site Famous?

Right heres an idea i had.

What if i registered a domain on every TLD possible. One thing im thinking is making the UK Urabn music scene (Garage) famous accross the world, or at least known. Now i understand this process could cost a bit of $$' but with promotion would or could this work?

Also the site would be in whatever language the contry is. Obviously for audio and images they'd all access the same Database.

Just a thought. Has any companys got it? apart from google.

I think only very few companies bother doing that. The costs involved are just too high.

Some countries will only allow local companies to register domains, this increases the cost even more. Beside that, some countries are just not worth while.

I don't think a "garage" site justifies the expenses. Just a get a really good domain (.com) and maybe create subdomains for each country. It will be cheaper and easier.
