Hey guys im pretty new to domaining and parking, I just wanted to know some of the basics, and how to go about making money by parking sites or making like 1 page mini-sites with ppc or adsense or something on them.

So is it realistic to think that you can buy like say 30-50 reg fee domain names, in popular sectors like real estate, gambling, entertainment, etc. Park them or make simple mini-sites - obviously with pretty weak names and maybe typonames, and make a few hundred bucks a month?

Also on average how much do sites like this make?
And is there a better way to approach this?

I just need a quick run through, and maybe some tips, I was thinking of using namedrive as a parking site.

THNX!

There are dozens of factors but first off - big free tip - don't bother with one page minisites. You might get away with it for a bit but google is closing down such made for adsense websites from their service.

Making money from minisites is possible - but it is much more work than most think.

How much do they make - it varies on a number of factors.

If you are looking for the easy route park your domains with 1plus or whypark because they at least allow you to add some of your own content.

If you want to make a living from it, be prepared to spend lots of money and/or time getting there. :)

Parking your sites with no name recognition is pretty weak revenue...I have about 45 dictionary word .tv names and i'm getting maybe $1 / day total. It's all about development...

maybe its cause of the dot tv?

and i guess it depends on the names, are they desirable, would people directly type them in? Thats why im more interested in typos of popular sites

and how much $ per click is the average for a parked site, lets say for poker or gambling

but i think all of this depand on how much time you put on your work, money is one of the factor but not not as big as time for parking domains,. if you want to buy and sell yeah you might need some amout of money for the good names bus as far as parking you need time to monetize your domains.

1Plus.net is the best way to get your feet wet, WhyPark.com is when your ready to heavily promote- monetize, and advertise your site to a maximum imo.

IMHO 10 cents a click is high - 7 cents average - but I don't have any poker sites

1. Don't spend a penny until you have read namepros for about 20+ hours. This will save you so much money that it's really important.

2. I have mini sites making me $25-$40 a month and some that make me 40 cents. Hit or miss but one thing for sure... a good name is important. One pagers also generally don't do well. I say min of 5 pages but more if you can.

3. Get good names...I mentioned this but it's more important than you think. With retail it's "location, location, location" and it's similar with domains. Now unless your Ebay, Flickr, or Youtube and are ready to spend mini fortunes getting setup...you need a good name which only requires a "small" fortune at this point. Look for names in the $50-$300 range...lots of goodies to work from if you can have that kind of budget.

4. Pick a niche you are KNOWLEDGABLE and INTERESTED in. Don't start any site you don't care about the subject matter. It will not do well for the most part.

Good luck.
