Making a living on the internet.

Just wondering if people here are making a living (don't have another job) on the internet, that is getting income from trade of domainnames and advertisement income?
To start with myself, I do not make a living of internet, but having said that, I just started to develop some sites. There are 2 online now, one is 3 months old bringing in around $100 a month and rising, the other is 1 month old and bringing in zero so far (only a couple of $), but soon there will be 5 more websites online.
What does this business do for you, is it a nice expensive hobby, an extra monthly income besides your week job or do you make a living out of doing this, John.

I make a few hundred a month from sites, but I spend more than a few hundred a month on investing again so yeah, in the negatives, but for the future, I should be good :)

what did you do to make $100 in 3 month? I made negative so far.
After the site was online I submitted it at every possible (free) search engine and other websites and was lucky it was picked up. So probably hard work still pays out ;)

I started one of my first sites that was focused on a topic for hobby, then I learned SEO. Now, that it's about 14 months into it, its a PR5, with 20,000 total BLs, I'm making about $35/ day on the site alone.

Then I learned back hat... end of story... :)

I am the managing director of Evibe The Netherlands and we also sell domain names
( .nl domains ) as such i started there in the domain business.
I soon started buying some .com's etc.. and right now I mostly focus on .com's

All the money I earn with domain names I invest in new domain names. This way
I don't have much risk and everymonth my portfolio ( www.evibeshop.com ) keeps
growing.

How many domains do you have?
Do you park them or develp them?

i am still interesting, if it is possible to make living: NOT BY DEVELOPING DOMAINS, but by REGISTERING BRAND NEW ONES AND PARKING THEM. AND how many domains do you need to park to make living?

Black Hat SEO = illegal and unadvisable SEO methods, e.g. hiding lots of keywords in your page by using the same color for the fonts and background. If someone reports it, Google bans you ...end of story. :)

I look at in a positive way.

The time I spend searching and managing my Domains keeps me out of the Bar at night. The $3,000 odd bucks I invested this year on Domains would have been wasted drinking and chasing females!!! So I guess I'm winning - Right??? :hehe:
