Does anybody got the mail from Moniker titled “Important Changes To Your SnapNames Registrar Account“ about new system of domains managing?

From that guy

Got such mail today, is it ok?

Thanks, Nick

Don't Click

Nevertheless, always exit your browser and then relaunch it, and then manually type in the address you are supposed to go to in your domain account per the email. Never take any chances with the security of your domain account(s).

Me too - just tried to do that but cannot find any info on the site even though the email says it can be done once you have accessed the new account.

Basically:
Push all of the names from the new account into your old one. Pretty high tech stuff. D-:

This is totally bogus. They sent me three e-mails for apparantly three accounts. One of them has no domains at all. Another, my "main" account only has the three domains in it that it's supposed to, and I can't access the third one, whatever it might be...I'm guessing it has to be the one with the 400 domains I had at Snapnames, but I don't know. This means I now have to deal with Moniker support, which recently has been totally trashed by NP members.

I must have been sleeping when the advance notice about this change came out...

I must have slept through that as well.

As an eBay seller, it's going to be very confusing for my customers. Most of my domains currently on sale are with Snapnames and listed as such. Now I'll have to explain to buyers that my listings are incorrect and I actually want their Moniker transfer details.

Some advance notice would have been good.

Same problem for me. I had domains at snapnames and now I cannot access them.Followed the link sent to me to login to Moniker and it says account is invalid. :td:

I don't think SnapNames/Moniker sent any advance notice.

The obvious thing to do. I've already sold one of the domains I moved into my main Moniker account and the push to the buyers Moniker account was successful.

For those having trouble accessing domains, it could be because you had more than one manage.snapnames.com account (as I did). I just clicked on the link in the requested second mail twice and inputted my two associated email addresses. My two new Moniker accounts were set up in under an hour. If you can't remember which email addresses you had on file, go to the whois and check for the admin contact email of the domain/s in the account you cannot access.

The email is OK.
I received it yesterday.
I had to log into a moniker account using info they provided and I had a new account with my manage.snapnames.com domains in it. They took care of transfer of all domains.
So now I have two moniker accounts. I can consolidate if I wish.
I checked it again this morning, and all is OK.

Chuck

not true. i got one at 2:20pm on 15apr that said

"1. Within the next 24 hours, a new Moniker account under your name will be automatically created for you... "

then 2 hours later, I had a new account.

What about those of us who never had Moniker accounts?

This means we now have accounts at Moniker and we can log in via Moniker?

Oh cool.

First, your domain registrars don't change to Moniker. If your account was with one of SnapNames 6 billion registrars, like hawthornedomains.com or udomainname.com or whatever, the names are still with those registrars - that doesn't change at all - only the management interface changes.

Secondly, there was advance notice - I received two emails (one from moniker and one from snapnames the day before this took effect).

This stuff was pretty well documented in the FAQ.

I was able to push the names from my "new" moniker account into my usual moniker account in all of about 4 seconds - about 35 names.

You misunderstand my point. I was also able to push my ex-Snapnames names to my regular Moniker account in a matter of seconds, but that's not the problem I tried to highlight.

As I said, I have several domains currently listed on eBay stating that the registrar (or management interface if you prefer) is through Snapnames, but that's no longer true. Most eBay auction listings are for 7 days, so (up to) 24 hours notice isn't enough for sellers - more than a week would have been a lot better.

The problem will go away in a week anyway, but in the meantime I feel it will cause me and other sellers some hassle this week trying to explain to buyers why the item isn't "as described".

I have no problems regarding this update. actually, I think it a great move (as I mentioned in the thread I started when I received first email) but by "advance notice" I meant "few days notice prior to this update".

Hmmmm, they have lost one of my domains and the migrated transactions only show for two old domains I sold over a year ago!!!.....Wonder how long it takes for the ticket to be answered?
