After my thread about how I made $9,750 selling a reg fee domain, this time I made $2,195 selling another reg-fee LLLLL.com domain that was registered 9 years ago. I listed it for sale on Afternic because they have authoritative landing pages that I really like, and I think this played a crucial role (especially regarding GoDaddy's brand authority).
I was selling this domain on the NamePros marketplace for $300 and didn't receive even a single inquiry. I had received an offer of $1,500 on Sedo in 2018 but wasn't able to accept it quickly enough. After 8 years, someone purchased it for $2,195. This goes to show that if a domain is truly valuable, you'll sell it eventually and there's no need to undersell it.
Furthermore, it makes me think that there's a huge information gap, so domainers are not able to efficiently uncover value and anticipate the end buyer. There's plenty of room for anyone entering the domaining market in any given year.
P.S: I remember finding this domain using DomainNameSoup.com. Back then I used to spend my days finding reg-fee domains, what wonderful times.
