I have most of my domain names on Sedo and NameDrive :td: and I'm not getting the returns that I would have hoped for, and I'm considering creating my own mini websites and just market them myself. So is this a good idea? I have the resources to create all the mini sites I want. So do you guys know where to find advertisers like the monetization sites have? I looked into Clickbank and Adsense but I was wondering if there is anything better out there with better returns. I would at least like to make enough money to cover the cost to renew the names before they expire....Jay

Mini Sites may be a good idea as long as you add some original content. You could mix adsense and affiliate product sales on your sites for ROI. Or, you could work the reverse way and find affiliate products which you feel have good sales potential. Once you've targeted 5-6 such products, you could create 2-3 page mini sites promoting these products together with some adsense thrown in. Just make sure that your site has a well defined privacy policy & terms of use conditions, proper contact information and the "about us" tags. This should help give your mini site some solid foundation.

Lousy Retuens

Thanks for the advice Varon. I'm gonna try it out with a couple names. Its just hard for me to find time to manage one site and my side job in managing four other site's for business's. I was kinda of wanting to do what Kevin Ham has done. I checked out your site and it seems to have some good info. on what I'm trying to do. Thanks again....Jay

Lousy Returns

Very nice! Is there much maintenance involved in what you’re doing? I would like to do something similar but with just a single page and list all of my domain names (Links) for sale on each site along with the content and the ad’s.

Why List all your sites on every site
Just create a little ad on one site and link to it via an ad on the other sites

RSS feeds can also be helpful when doing mini-sites such as www.tecopottery.info/teco-pottery.html where the content is from a company catalog. Also www.lottashoes.com with content from an old brochure I got in a box lot at auction. There are feed tools like www.simplepie.org which make adding feeds pretty easy.

My advice is to stay away from the content scrapers and if necessary buy a bit of original content.

Thanks for the good advice and info. Are the Ads by Google on your sites pay per click? And what criteria do I have to meet to get them? I really just want to make enough money to cover the renew cost for my names and sites before they expire.

parking is needed only if you're about to sell, development gets all the money.

or park till you are ready to develop - that's what I do. Make them earn money until you are ready to get around to them. You may even find that some do better parked!

Oh and:
Sedo and NameDrive
- not surprised you are not happy with their revenue split. Nobody likes sub .05 clicks all day long. Try your domains at other parking companies as well. Some really do pay better - and unlike the two you mentioned - also pay you for multiple clicks.

Any suggestions on who might produce better revenue results. I can't afford to pay for parking. I just want to make enough money to cover the renew cost until I can get the hang of selling or creating some sites for them.
