I'm trying to decide on the best host. I'm not looking specifically for a bargain but I would like to advoid spending too much.

I find that most Hosting Review sites are biased towards one host. I assume its an affiliation deal or something along those lines.

Who really is the best?

I've heard really good things about inmotion hosting. Are they good?

I want to hosting multiple domains, at least 10 but I'd love the opportunity to host unlimited.

Customer service and ease of use are important to me.

Please help. I'm new to domaining, so anything you can share on this or other good topics will be helpful.

thanks!!!

well immotion hosting appears on the top of most of thoes hosting review sites, which means it spends it money on that kind of advertising. Plus when i was looking at the host it seamed expensive and the only feuture they alwas talked about was the fact you could choose between two locations

I suppose that would be really useful for you to place the request in the request section on the Namepros. That will give you opportunity at least to be aware of the alternatives and go to comparison

You know that glowhost.com is a good alternative, they are great in proving support, their servers works with no downtime and glitches. Plans are quite resourceful.

Who is the best...
I assume that is the question with no answer at all. I assume if you are happy you will say they are the best and if you are not happy you will say they are the worst

Nobody and nothing is perfect in this world.
The best host doesnยดt exist believe me because "The best host" is more or less subjective. What counts are facts and the reality.

Btw: I have found my "perfect host" some years ago and have spent till today about 400 Euro also I have unlimited bandwidth wich I donยดt really need.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm learning fast around here.

My big decisions I think now are: VPS / Shared or Reselling and then I'll narrow that further to a few companies and go from there.

Lots of stuff to consider.

Thanks again.

What kind of sites will you be hosting?

Unless you have a personal preference of root access, you most likely will not need a VPS.

Also, contacting a companies sales and negotiating with them seems to work well for a lot of people.

For the first while I'm planning on developing and hosting a number of mini sites. Eventually I'll progress to medium sized websites (full sites w/o a ridiculous amount of graphics or video).

I agree that VPS is probably not what I need and if I ever need a substantial amount of anything - I'd probably wait until my plans are big enough for a Dedicated Server.

Can you really negotiate with hosting companies? If so what am I working on? Monthly $, HD or Band space? Domains? Free months?

I like that idea.

I'm sure this is going to open up Pandoras box...but...here is my short list (in no order):

- JustHost
- HostMonster
- 1and1
- GoDaddy
- InMotion (probably not the right fit for now)

Thats the list I'm going to choose from...unless someone can add to it (please point out why).

Thanks!

Those five

Your list of five all oversell their services. One big reason.

You can find various hosting companies that sell very good hosting on namepros, from members who have been in business for severral years, who'll let you pay monthly and increase your account size in the future.

Norris416,
A couple of hosts in your lists are regular appearances in Top ten webhost review site. So it seems it is wise to search for some reviews which are legit on the short listed hosts.

If you are still in search of reliable web hosting provider to deal with, I can put forward a suggestion to broaden your search first. There is no denying the fact that the truth comes out of comparison and I advise you to explore espinda.com, sectorlink.com and exmasters.com and then pick up the best and most appropriate company.
