Im looking for another server to add too my hosting realm... This server is only going to be used for backups, so i want it at a different company..

Specs should be atleast...

P4 Or AMD @ 2.4
40gb hd
800gb bandwidth
1gb ram...
Fendora..
CPanel/WHM

I would suggest you go with a company like managed.com or burst.net.

Though I would NEVER suggest that for an actual live server I would in this case because your not going to need your backup server all the time therefore their unreliableness won't matter.

But if your looking for quality let me know and I'll suggest some others

IMHO.. i was sorta asking for advertising / recommendations..

ANyways... the server will always be live, as im allowing my clients to backup stuff on it. when ever they want...

ahhh, so your going to need someone with good uptime. I was thinking you'd just be ftping the files over from your server. But since your not I suggest you look for something between $100-$120 for your requested server as reliability will be important for you.

Add cpanel and another 512mb of ram and that makes 100/month exact.

This being a backup machine I'm not sure I understand the need for a fast machine--tranfers and reliability would seem the real issue.

I've used a dedicated machine from www.ez1web.com for sometime: very satisfied. I use a second machine there for backups of my sites, but admit that I do keep the most up-to-date web code on an office machine (I get antsy about trusting any machine that isn't near me).

How can you offer him a service when your looking for one yourself .
