Looking for Price Quote...

I'm interested in creating a website based on a "web refresh game". Users refresh the page as many times as they want, each time entering them in to win a prize. The script would simply need to calculate the percentage chance of winning each prizes on a refresh (IE: .0001% for $5 Paypal, .00000001% for $100 Paypal) and then display if they have won or not, the prize they have won and instructions on how to claim the prize.

This is just a rough idea, I have much more planned. I imagine this would be a pretty easy script to code, so I don't expect quotes should be too high.

Please PM me if you are interested in working with me on this project and can provide a rough quote.

Thanks,

Mike

Just a couple of thoughts on this.

You will be opening your page to being bombarded by refresh requests. If you get a few users on you will most likely max out the allowed connections for apache. Your bandwidth will also rocket sky high.

If you are going to do something like this you should make it so they are not allowed to refresh for x amount of seconds (maybe have a visual timer so that they can see they are not allowed to refresh) And maybe have it if they refresh before they are allowed the timer starts again and they were not entered into the prize draw.

Yes that was one technical aspect I left out that I would go into detail for the coder. I'm looking into doing a combination of different techniques to help defer would be spammer. A 3 second timer or so with visual countdown and a CAPTCHA image verification every 10 refreshes.

Any feedback?
