I would like to be able to get some good reseller hosting companies.
I am brand new to the business in the area of hosting etc and would like to ensure I take the right route. Any information would be helpful.

I looked around for the best place to post this request and I was not sure where else except here where I felt the experts would go to help the new people.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to the information.

I have looked at

plesk, and wirenine.com so far.

GoDaddyGoDaddy
GoDaddy has WildWestDomains as their reseller nation (wildwestdomains.com). I have been a reseller for numerous years.

Do I make a killing? Not in the least. I use it as a means to get terribly cheap registrations and hosting.

But as for registrations, too many out there now are offering just as cheap as being a reseller, even cheaper. Moniker offers $6.95 .com, $5.49 .net regs to members of this forum. GoDaddy and their reseller accounts are slightly higher on the .com ($7.18 plus 25 cent ICANN fee, and significantly higher on the .net...$7.49). So Moniker beats them in that area. .mobi is about the same. .eu has come down a ton, perhaps around $7.49.

For hosting, hard to beat the discount you can give yourself with a reseller account. I don't even remember how cheap it is. It's that low.

So if it is hosting you're after for reselling or giving your self a price break, WWD is very good. Great plans, Windows and Unix/Linux, and very flexible with numerous addons and features.

If it is a price break on domains you're looking for, save yourself the cost of the $99, $149, and $199 reseller plans and reg your domains at Moniker.

Some advice from someone who literally has been there, done that.

Reseller Hosting, and not a domain reseller, correct?

Best bet would be to post a request in the hosting forum and you'll get some reseller hosting offers.

Clarification

I would like to be able to sell people some hosting space on the server. I know next to nothing with whats involved.

I now understand that you can get discounts for domain registration and offer that to customers. Very interesting. . . .

I mainly just want to be able to host my sites and get a specific number of other people to cover the costs. . . .

Much appreciated. :D

If you are not sure what is involved, I wouldn't even attempt to go into the hosting business. It's harder than you might think.

But, if your still going to try, post in the Hosting Request form with your specs you need and I'm sure someone will reply with hosting.

I agree. Not in a huge rush to jump in. I have a business partner that is using a reseller program right now and will have to continue to pick it apart with him. Will post in the other location soon as well.

Thanks for being honest. :D
