Hi,

I am thinking of moving some of my domain names to a registrar outside the US. Which domain registrar/s outside the US would you recommend to trasfer my domains to? What makes you chose them?

Thanks.

That was the exact same question I was gonna ask when I saw the title of this thread.

I have no idea about which companies are decent outside the US, but I would presume that it would be a lot more expensive to reg names.

I used domaindiscount24.net (Germany) for some domains with no problems. I moved domains away just to consolidate.

Fabulous.com in Australia have good prices but a little difficult to get in if you only have a few domains.

I put all my domains that I do not want at a US registar at resellerclub.
Prices are good as well.

Same here. Considering that certain countries may have its share of peculiar
laws, one might be hardpressed to find an offshore registrar that won't likely
cause you problems if found to violate their agreement or any applicable law
within their jurisdiction.

I already posted a few examples in the thread below:

Good luck, and good hunting to the OP.

I think you have to live outside the US to understand.
Many domain owners would prefer to keep some (or all ) of their domains registered in other countries. Sometimes price is not the governing factor.
Likewise I am sure there are many who insist on using a US registrar or am I wrong.

I do live outside the U.S. But then, is that needed for one to understand why
some people prefer to keep their domain registrations in offshore registrars?

OTOH, my point in what I stated earlier is for people to try to be realistic that
it might or might not make a difference whether you're using a U.S.-based one
or not. Issues can occur, depending on a variety of things.

One suggestion I can perhaps make is to ask yourself why you want to register
that domain name, and if it'll possibly cause issues down the road for someone
who might have any applicable law on their side. More importantly, be ready to
defend your claims.

However, I can also understand if one is seeking a non-U.S. registrar to, say,
lessen their possibilities of getting sued or that's within their reach.
