do live outside the U.S. But then, is that needed for one to understand why
some people prefer to keep their domain registrations in offshore registrars?
OTOH, my point in what I stated earlier is for people to try to be realistic that
it might or might not make a difference whether you're using a U.S.-based one
or not. Issues
can occur, depending on a variety of things.
One suggestion I can perhaps make is to ask yourself why you want to register
that domain name, and if it'll possibly cause issues down the road for someone
who might have any applicable law on their side. More importantly, be ready to
defend your claims.
However, I can also understand if one is seeking a non-U.S. registrar to, say,
lessen their possibilities of getting sued or that's within their reach.
