Looking for best directory script

I have acquired a [county].org name (actually is same name as the main city too) and want to make a directory of organizations. This country/town is crazy for organizations of all types. Thousands of them.

So, I'm looking for the best directory script or any other script you think might be good for this. I was thinking a wiki would work well too, but they are so ugly and not really built for adding advertising (but it seems that has to be changing!).

I obviously don't wish to enter all the info myself, so I want the community to build it. I want it to be more than just the contact info, including extra fields for information about the organization.

Now that I think of it, i could really use a calender of upcoming events (fundraisers, etc). Hmmm...directories don't have that do they?

Any ideas on what would be best for this? What's the greatest directory script? Is there a wiki that would actually be good for this, and allow me to add some advertising to make a few bucks? Do they have calendars? Not sure I really want to go the vbulletin route or heavy cms with this.

Money is not an problem. I'll pay for the best.
