I looking for serious partner for domain sale business. I own (.com) domain that is exact name of one very strong company in one Europe country (they have website on (.cc) domain). The idea is that we develop certain website at that address and do our own business that probably that company could not tolerate.

The business is absolutely legal.

I belive that we could get about $60,000 - $200,000 and maybe I`m wrong and we get much more.

So, I looking for individual with knowledge or company that have good web designer, SEO expert and good lawyer.

All interested can contact me via pm or via e-mail ([email protected]) and please describe your way of end user domain sale and give me link of your company web site.

Only serious offers please.

Maybe I didn't understand correctly, so correct me if I'm wrong... but what you are proposing, isn't that unethical - bordering on illegal?

Is the domain generic? If not, then its a possible TM violation. Besides, you propse to build a business with the sole intention to disrupt another business by using their own business name? And from how you worded your post, sounding like you want to hold them ransom to buying your domain/duplicate business - that's not good practise both in business terms or ethics.

Or did I get the wrong end of the stick?

Thanks for the PM. And no, from what you describe I don't think its illegal - maybe a slightly unethical approach but to each their own I guess.

I think you should add to this thread what you sent to me via PM to explain your request a little better. Perhaps clarify what your intentions are so that it doesn't appear scammy/unethical or as if its violating TMs etc. You might get a better response that way.

All the best.

Mentioned PM from post above:

Dear RicoShay,

the name we talk about is not registered TM in any country, so here we are all clear (even in their own country !!). Yes domain name can be interpreted as a generic name that consern all companies that practise that job. So website that we have to do is a classic Web Portal and include all similar companies in Europe but ofcourse not them.

That means I do not duplicate their job, and maybe that is not 100% ethical but I only doing my job, and my job is Internet, Websites, Domaining, Web Portals....

Worst thing I do is that I play a fool.

So I still seeking for SEO expert, web designer and lawyer so he can watch that I don`t do something ilegal.

Best Regards,

Solton

thanks for advice RicoShay

Like I said, legal and 97% ethical business...

I am interested and have a background in SEO. But I am not sure what you are thinking will work, at least for a large pay off.

The laws in other countries scare me. Actually, laws in the US scare me also. :) While it may not make any difference, I think what you are doing could be considered "bad intent". That is, you don't have the domain for what you can do with it, but for what money you can make from another company with the same name and a different TLD. Now the fact that you have STATED your intentions, could be used against you in a dispute.

My concerns are:

First, that you many not have the ability to make a site that is successful enough for this other company to buy.

Two, that the company may not be in a position to buy your site in the future. I mean, if they can't even get the .com version of their domain before this, how well are they running the rest of their business? .cc???

Three, if they are big and have a lot of money, they could go after you when the realize what you are doing. Sometimes a company will spend more money to take something from a person than they would have to just pay them directly.

I think you are in a good business position, but I think there are different ways to go and you need to determine which makes the most sense from a business and ethical standpoint.

The situation is something like getting a business location that is on a busy street with lots of off-street parking. The other company is on a side street or maybe a dark alley.

At this point without knowing the domain, I think the best option would be to try and put up a site that is either on a related topic, or one that is "informational" like with articles and a blog. You could have paid advertising on the site and make money that way, without selling the same products or services as the other company. You can make some money from your domain and you may also have the possibility for other buyers. This company may have a competitor who would love to get a domain like that...!

Some may not agree, but if it was my site I would put a small notice to tell people that if they are looking for the company's site to click here. This removes any idea that you are trying to "fool" people into thinking your site is the company' site, and if they see the traffic coming from your site it may attract their interest sooner. Of course if they contact you the first time you need to tell them you are not interested in selling at this time. :)

OK, simple explanation:

There is a company with name that would be great for a web portal where people find out things about certain products and services.

I own .com and they own .cc

There is no any TM.

I find a crew and develop web portal with quality informations, articles, suggestions, and after all direct connections with that same products and services with other companies. Ofcourse my personal oppinion is "that company is not important" so they are not a part of my portal. Portal start to earn money and get more traffic.

Then they start to hate me.

I say that I only do my own business (they are company and I am web portal)

Ofrourse I am ready to sell domain but unfortunately that name suits great fo that kind of portal that has lot of great companies included.

So I sell it for big money or I continue to do my own job.

I think I can be so rude and register TM for my website and then TM is also for sale.

Still seeking for lawyer, SEO expert and web designer
