With LongerURL.com we have taken a fun approach with it, from the concept to the into on the site to the 404 page.

We thought of this idea some time ago and to this day we keep getting asked what its for, the answer: fun. what LongerURL.com does is make shorter URL's longer. up to 1,000 chars.

Right now its preset to make the URL 255 chars (just because that is safe) but the user has the option to make it from 100 chars to 1,000.

there is a admin back-end. you can view the original link, the new link, the link number, and a place to delete the link.
