Here is my 1st try:

Sorry about the watermarks. This is a bigger version so you can see the details (I could make the logo work for any dimensions you'd like).

Here is my try at your logo. Height can be adjusted by making the "river reflection" at a smaller angle.
Please leave feedback on it. Any new ideas are welcomed.

Here is my 1st attempt at your logo. I completely drew thebridge by hand, but i think it is very close to the original that you posted from flicker. This is the blue look, if you would like to see the pink look I can work n that for you as well.

Did expect a few more so if anyone is thinking of entering but is unsure then feel free to PM or post any questions or things i can clarify to make it easier for you.

Feedback on entries so far:

Minucosminu: It's OK but the lights on the bridge need to be a bit brighter, more shiny & neon like (if that makes sense)
With the bridge it is important that the twist in the arc is shown. Not sure how clear it is in the pictures but the bridge is not straight as the left side is set further back & that is why it's known as 'Squinty Bridge' (Squinty means not straight in Glasgow)
Can you try out some different fonts for the text also.
Maybe try some different colour cominations for the font too, maybe a border or something to bring some life to it.

Overall is a good start, just needs to catch the eye a bit more.

BSparks: I like your bridge more as the lights look mor elike the real bridge & you have caught the shape of the bridge well.
Not sure on the text though, try different fonts & text colours please.

Would be nice is any future designs are shown in both blue & pink to match the different colours the bridge goes, so i can see which colour works best.

Today i'll try find examples of some text & logos i like so it can maybe help you designers know what to try.

Keep the designs coming please.
Would be great if somebody could do a design where the bridge is part of the text, before/afer text or appears through the text rather than always above though i'll leave that to the designers.

Been trying to think more about things i like to help you guys out.

Squinty Bridge on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
This image of the bridge is probably the ideal image to show the shape, the beams & colours. If there was anyway to do a design with bridge close to that angle with text through it then it may be worth a go as i love the bridge from that angle.

Here is some logos i like, try give you an idea:
Logo on 1 of my other sites Uk Crane Industry website, Crane Drivers, Riggers, Appointed person can find Jobs, Cranes For Sale, Crane Hire Companies - Very clean, simple & on a similar webdesign as i will use this one. Could possibly put the bridge in a box before / afer the text like here??

I like logo on Popeater.com : Having the borders on text helps it stand out well. The black, sleek, shiny text is good.

Logo on Detroit Michigan Hotels | Restaurants | Attractions | Real Estate is nice, very simole but using the bubble above the dot to show a symbol to match the city.

Hope that gives some insight as to what i like & dislike, feel free to try anything at all though.

I think that this logo needs a lot of work because of the bridge.

i would enter, but like kosvam said, it seems like a lot of work for the prize, but you are the op and its up to you what prize you offer.
i will try and get in a submission anyway if i get time.

Ok... and the pink one is ready..

If you pick mine, I can give you both designs.
With an extra fee, I can make you also a script so that the colors of the bridge will change nicely from pink to blue.

Could you try some different fonts & make the '.tv' sit just after the bridge but inline with other text.

This one is based on the lates flicker pic you posted. i can shrink the bridge down a lot if you would like. Kind of a celtic feel to the text

Here's my attempt, hope you like it. It's a little over the height you suggested but I can shrink the bridge if that's a problem, and I can make changes on colour etc. I was thinking of filling the bridge in with colour rather than leaving it a line drawing but I wasn't sure - tell me what you think.

Feedback:

Kosvam - Yes i was thinking of the text all being inline like that.
More i look at the bridge then i think it looks a bit mishaped though, maybe need to try alter it a little so it looks more natural like the images if youc an.

I dont like the font used for text.

BSparks- Really like your bridge now, i wouldnt try changing the shape of that as it looks great.
Still dont like text, can you try some different fonts & colours.
Maybe try a colour with border (white with blue/pink border?)
Try any font , colour you wish. Need to ensure the URL stands out, catches the eye.

Warrenlax- Bridge is too simple / plain.
Need to try something to bring some life to it.
Text - same feedback as the others, not sure on text yet so please try as many fonts, colours & border combinations as possible.

Feedback for everyone- Sorry about being so unsure on the font & font colours. I'm not sure what i want there though all i can suggest is to try something like PopEater.com where it's a shiny / glossy black with white & then pink (or blue depending on bridge lights)
That Text stands out, look very eye catching so maybe try something on those lines with a border & some glossy / mirror / sparkle effects.


1 more thing, regard the closing date: Just found out i have a Stag weekend this weekend so wont be around for more than a few minutes on the blackberry so if everyone is OK with it then i'd like to put end date back 24 hours??
So end date will be Monday if everyone is OK with that??

Sorry if i'm being a pain in the @ss by not really knowing what i want regards the text , font & colours but please save anything you try & post it anyway.

End date has been put back to Monday 18th as i'll be out on Sunday.

I'll try drop in on the Blackberry on Sunday to give feedback if i can but i'm not sure if i will be able to.
