I'm looking for a logo for my new football/soccer site slidingtackle.com

I will pay $70 to the winning designer. I would prefer lighter colours, im thinking green, blue etc. I have seen some of the previous attempts, particularly in crazyd's thread and i must say they were excellent. I hope for the same quality in this thread and i look forward to seeing your designs.

Payment will be made to the winning designer via paypal. The closing date is 17th June 12 noon UK TIME.

I of course reserve the right to refuse all entries if i consider them unsuitable.

Prizes:

1st: $70
2nd: $20
3rd: $10

I'm not in this particular competition, but I agree with l0zo... changing the payout now is just wrong. Everyone has been competing based on a $70- prize. In fairness to the winner, if you want to add a second and third place prize, it should be in addition to the $70. If not, then I vote to leave it as is at $70.

I'm with Gene on this. Once the contest ends, then decide if you feel there are any entries you feel deserve to get 2nd and 3rd and give them money. But, do not lower the $70 for first place, :imho:

Of course there are no hard feelings, i appreciate your input. I feel that it will only be the serious contenders in the top 3 anyway as the quality has been so high. At the moment i consider there to be four serious contenders and a few more i am undecided about.

I feel those people who wish to break up the prize money because there designs lack in quality will not be in the top three (and therefore not be rewarded with any money) as there designs will not be at the standard i am looking for. As (IMO) there are already more than three quality designs, it is impossible for those designs lacking in quality and what i'm looking for to appear in the top three.

I understand your perspective, i hope this explains mine.

Here is my entry:

I hope you like it, the whole image is 100% custom made. If you choose mine you will receive the original .PSD and all other major formats including .jpg, .gif and .png.

You will also obtain any font styles used and the football logo in a seperate document.

Also once the site has launched you can have 1 Year of advertising to!

Please tell me what needs improving.

Reason:
I entered into this competition and gave you a $70 effort.

I voted no too based off the fact I have listed a logo comp before and to go back on the initial price during a contest is wrong IMO, these designers entered it on the assumption the total prize would be there in the end and gave effort accordingly, they knew there was no 2-3rd place prize but its nice to kick it in at the end if you can, again, this is just IMO

Thanks for your input but this exact point has been made before by other designers, please read back in the thread. I do not have the time to respond to input made over and over again. I will reitterate: i undertand your perspectives and will reveal what i'm going to do tonight in the feedback.
