Ok time for a rather large post. There is going to be a lot of feedback in here as well as the new prize system that i have determined earlier than planned. I understand everyones concerns about the way in which i have altered the prize system, however with reflection on the polling results and general fairness in mind i have came to a conclusion which is listed at the bottom of the post. My main difficulty concerning the contest was the quality of designs, most have been excellent and it will be very difficult to make a decision on just one.
General Matters:
Before PM'ing me, posting in the thread or requesting feedback could people please read through the entire thread, it is most likely the case that i have already posted the answer to your question.
I will also decline to give advice on how to dramatically improve a logo to my requirements. My reason for doing so is that i am not a graphic designer and no little about making quality logo's. That is why i have enlisted everyones help. I also feel it is unfair to give more advice to one competitor than another. I am happy to give you little pointers of what i feel can be improved but as far as text styling and anything else like that goes then i will have to decline. All feedback will be posted in the one post, it should be all you require to revise or complete your work. Not to mention i don't have the time to speak to everyone individually about their logo's as i'm also designing websites, selling names, have a FT job and going out to have fun. I dont mean to sound like im not willing to help, i feel it is very important to do so, it's just that i have little time.

170 Designs: Ok i didn't really like this one. The text style was ok but i don't like the football shadowing or the way the text is positioned. I recommend a revised entry i you wish to do so. Thanks for the entry though.
Petter: The more i see this the more i like it. I really like the circular border around the text and i think the figure is excellent. The only thing i am not keen on is the text styling, possible alteration maybe. But the coloring is what i'm looking for, good entry.
Our Portfolio: Yeh i quite liked this one. I feel the text styling and color is good, however i am not keen on the design of the ball, it looks "cartoonish" IMO, which is not what im looking for. I also quite like the border displayed around the text, but there is something missing from this one IMO, i dont know what it is but the logo does not leap out at me IMO.
One Armed Scissor: I know this has nothing to do with your logo but I love your name btw, very unique. Anyway........ This is a revised effort of one of my favourite designs so far, i prefer the text spacing to what you had previously. You are still right up there in the running.
Our Portfolio: Another entry from you which i feel is an improvement on the previous but i still do not like the ball (obviously since it's the same one). But the text styling and color looks better than before (even though its the same), however im not sure about the black background, something different in that respect maybe? I also like the way you have incorporated the .com, very cool IMO.
l0zo: As mentioned before i really like this one. I think the logo looks better with just one BLURRED football, really nice design that like one armed's requires no improvement.

Will7: I really like this as well. I feel the football emerging from the back is quality, as well as the design/style/placement of the text. One possible alteration is the bordering/swooshes, i would prefer it if they did not overlap the text. But a quality design.
Jamx551: I dont know what to make of these, i might need to look again tomorrow after i have slept on it. I do not like no. 3 & 4, however i feel no.1 & 2 have potential, particularly no.2. I like the styling of the text in no.2 and the football, i will revise these tomorrow and see what i think, sorry i cannot provide you with a decisive like or dont at the moment.
Steadler: Now, i do like this. The figure inside the dark circle i think is what makes it, i dont like the images below the text, i feel they could be removed as i do not know what they represent. The styling of the text is ok, but if you keep the circle figure and provide a revised test styling you could be in the running.
CubeChris: Hi, spoke to you in chat and i think ignited your interest in this competition. Not really keen on this i have to say, the football design is ok, but i don't think the text styling is suitable for a football/soccer forum. A revised effort maybe?
Will7: Must admit i preferred your original, this one looks very cramped. The swooshes (technical term) are overlapping the text (which i dont like) but once aging the ball is quality. I preferred the positioning of the .com in your original entry, i am not sure about the text, would have to take it out of what i feel is a cramped logo to judge.

CubeChris: Yes, vast improvement IMO. The image goes along with the name of the site which is really good and i also quite like the text styling and color. The only downside is the square background, i dont think it adds anything to the logo. However i cannot revise the leader board till tmrw, not to say that you would or wouldn't be in it, as it would be unfair to the current top 3.

We have 3, yes 3!!! joint first places, i cannot honestly distinguish between them at the moment, my friends are coming over tomorrow, they will hopefully be able to help out.
Please do not ask me to distinguish between these for first place, i can't. As i said i will have to wait till tomorrow till my friends come over and will ask for their opinion. It was hard enough just choosing three!

Revised Prizes:
Ok after much deliberation and after reflection of the poll, which has helped me as follows:
I felt that after being asked to include a second and third prize, it was worth the consideration. I also felt that if i just asked do you wish for a second and third prize then there would have been a unanimous yes. However in saying that i would create a second and third prize at the expense of the first prize, on reflection of the poll i realised that it is worth doing. Those who voted yes did so in full awareness that first prize would be compromised for 2nd and 3rd and still voted yes. I was fully aware if i put it to vote before lowering the first prize that everyone would have voted yes, however in putting it to vote and there being an even distribution i have decided on the following:
1st: $70
2nd: $20
3rd: $10
I'm not sure if everyone will understand, but there was logic behind the poll.
