Canada has produced many talented people - sadly this guy isn't one of them. He's too smug to be Canadian anyways.
He and Celine Dion are Canada's greatest defensive assets. If you invade you will face loudspeakers belting out duets performed by the two! You know it would suck so don't even dare! :p
I only heard one song by him, so knowing he is hyped by media a lot I am not exposed to his "artistic" creations a lot.
But well, I'll say the same here as I said for Tokio Hotel (who I did listen to and they're not even that bad): the guy knows how to sell himself. I doubt he cares about neither the many screaming teenage girls nor the many who hate him, when he looks at his bank account he's probably very happy with all the publicity about his personality (even the negative one). The guy turned 17 and probably has more money than the average person will make in his whole life. So I doubt he cares about the many bashers.
I don't know more than 1 song of him (and a damn irritating one) but then I don't wind up about musicians too much: when I don't like a band or song, I don't listen to it. Easy People should invest more time in promoting their own favourite bands rather than wasting time on blackmailing other performers. In the end the hype is likely to blow over anyway within the first couple of years, in these days music has sadly become a consumption product and only the true art stays around longer than a few years. The others are just products, short-lived hypes (eg Pop Idol etc) who have their minutes of fame until the next hype comes around, and who try to cash in on that short-lived hype as much as possible.
PS: is he going to perform in North Korea now or not?
