A search engine providing a localised service through its generic domain name has announced doubled revenues for 2007.
Local.com has this week announced financial results for the fourth quarter of last year as well as the whole of 2007 - with hit counts and revenues reaching an "all-time high", FoxBusiness.com reports.
It is noted that Local.com saw its revenue double for 2007 on the previous year and according to Heath Clarke, Local.com chairman and chief executive, this level of growth is expected to continue during 2008.
"In the past quarter our organic traffic has grown substantially, page views per visitor are up, and monetisation is at an all-time high. We entered 2008 very strongly," he said.
He added that a number of new projects, including increased outsourcing of sales and staff growth, had led the company to predict high returns for the remainder of the year.
Local.com is a US based website that currently receives around ten million hits each month with users able to search for local businesses, products and services - and also operates a UK service at UK.Local.com.
