LTD Domains, there are some still available but they are soon disappearing!

LTD or limited domains, are how companies in the UK are often titled when they incorporate their business. I believe INC and CO are somewhat comparable US equivalents.

I started researching these names and how often they were developed into websites, below you’ll see just those I took the time to record. It turns out there are thousands of end users using a generic term + ltd in their domain name. The reason is, for them its just the way they’d list or brand their business offline, in a phone book, on a letter head or directory. In my approaches to these companies I’ve had a much better response selling a domain name that is their business identity, because it makes sense to them. The sheer volume of real companies using LTD in their name is staggering, which makes sales leads ridiculously easy to find and much easier to approach.

I have been buying up against domain drop firms, buy domains, large individual buyers, you name it and it was an interesting time. Several two letter ltd names went literally the day before I managed to purchase them, along with productionsltd.com going to an end user for example literally one or two days before I registered it.

I have had a lot of PM's on a forum I frequent about how I would buy in this market. You have to of course look at how many companies might well use the name to brand their business or wish to develop it, this is of course reflected in sales leads or possible companies approaching you and that is my primary way of deciding which names are worth buying up; of course traffic, searches, the industry, existing development etc, etc all play an important part.

For an example, here is what I have just purchased to add to my collection:

IndustriesLimited.com, because of the obvious google results and if I have guessed correctly traffic. Although this name has some cross over with my IndustriesLTD.com and I wouldn't rate it as highly because of it having more characters, its still a very nice name imho. It has a broad appeal, to many businesses, like any good generic term.

This was further down my list to buy but I know these kind of companies are usually well developed online.

400k in google but you'll see all the individual companies highlighted in bold, all sales leads.
