Just received a $1200 offer on one of my quads via afternic :)

I looked into the .com version of it and I see that it is listed for sale with an asking price of $4895. Guess they settled for the .net at 1/4th the price.

Nice sale. Did you use the regular promo or extended promo?

I had the domain on extended promo but the offer came through Afternic itself I think because they are only taking a 10% commission.

Very nice sale, I wish you that it goes smoothly. Congratulations! Just curious, do you have a large LLLL.net portfolio?

I checked today my portfolio, I have about 300 quads (i though I have more), but I did not have any sales since summer. I would not call it a general slowdown in domaining because I had 2 LLLL.org sales last few months (I have approx. the same amount of LLLL.org), but no LLLL.net sales...

I've been finding more endusers lately as well and with less effort.
LLLL are more "recession friendly" with endusers :imho:

Reece, where do you list your LLLL.net? I have heard afternic is good place to market LLLL.net (I currently have them listed only at Sedo). Did you have sales through sedo or afternic or some other venue?

Not sure about Afternic -- don't use them. I haven't had any results with Sedo on .net however I've had a couple endusers contact me directly (endusers seem to be more proactive, emailing me lately).

I've started to forward my domains on Sedo directly to the "Make Offer" page instead of having them parked. Have had better results with my LLLL.info since I started doing that, so will have to see if that continues with other extensions.

Yes, I have a fairly large portfolio of LLLL.net and this is my first big offer (I've had a few low xxx offers though), although I have only had them listed on Afternic for a couple weeks now and before just had them listed on Sedo.

looks like it is worth listing them on afternic. Is it allowed to list them on sedo and afternic simultaneously?

Yes, it is fine to list on both. Just make sure you remove it from the other if it sells on one.

I used to only have my names listed at Sedo but about 3 weeks ago I also listed them all on Afternic. In that time I've had at least 6 decent offers on Sedo (all on .coms) and only 1 on Afternic (the .net stated above), so I think Sedo is definitely the best place to have them listed, but I don't think it hurts to have them listed on Afternic as well.

Their bulk upload makes it pretty easy and the extended promotion should theoretically get your domains in front of end users by showing it on various registrars etc. I figured for $20/yr it was worth it to try out Afternic.

Expanded promo requires you to set 3 different prices - minimum, floor, and asking. Confused the h*ll out of me when I was listing mine. Still don't remember what the difference is between floor and asking...

What kind of numbers are you putting down for yours?

I experienced the same thing! Was sooo confused at first. lol. Although I have not had any afternic sales yet I have had one quad premium sale on Sedo, but it only went for $70..still better than the $5.25 I had paid to register it. However, from the LLLL.net sale's I have seen Afternic does seam to be the best. Kind of why I upgraded my membership on their from just a buyer to a buyer and a seller. Still waiting for some of those sale's to come around, I'm sure they will!

Maybe they only charge extra for the extended promo if someone actually finds your domain with it. If they found your name the same they would have on the basic promo they only charge you there? I don't know for sure but that would be awesome if that's how they did it!

All I set was the minimum which I set at $600 due to the 20% ($120 minimum) commission for expanded promo. I didn't set a floor or asking price.

A few days ago though I got an email saying I had a "sales lead" on BuyDomains, which I'm assuming means that someone did a price request on one of my domains listed there. The email asked me to set a floor and asking price for the domain, which I'm guessing they sent to the person who inquired. I did that but I have yet to hear anything more on that.

Yeah, that must be what they do, and I too was very surprised by that. I was kind of reluctant to do expanded promo thinking that it would cause any sales via Afternic itself to have double the commission.
