New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

With LLLL.com's going way up in price it only seems natural these will go as well. Time will tell if there will be a sellout.

g-

My guess is that their will be an eventual sell out. But I could be wrong :)

We are years away from a total buy out if it does happen but we will certainly see all premium and cvcv domains sell out this year I think.

No one knows for sure. But IMHO there are several reasons for LLLL.net aftermarket after buyout of premium domains.

1. .net domain value is 10% of .com value e.g. currently it is 20$ out of 200$ quadruple-premium LLLL.com minimum price. Even if just 5% it is still 10$ which is still nice ROI over regfee.

2. LLLL.com future success will urge LLLL.net market the same way as LLL.com urged LLL.net and LLL.org buyouts and aftermarket.

3. Existing end-user market. With LLLL.com price increase some organization and small companies will not be able to buy LLLL.coms for mid-high $XXXX and will have to buy LLLL.net for mid $XXX or regfee LLLL.info (in case LLLL.org is taken and developed)

With bulk buyers of llll.net, always remember that .net is cheaper than .com. If I was going to buy more than 100 with the intension to buy and hold, I would probably go with Fabulous as I understand that they sell .net cheap to their bulk customers.

Moniker sells at a little over $6 per .net and so they are my other option with .net domains.

HI All

I just bought another 25 LLLL.net domains... bringing my total to LLLL.net domains to 223 I am picking the eyes out of what can be got now for reg fee, I know in 12 months they will be worth at least 2x reg fee... but I am holding them for 2-4 years...

Do you believe in the future of LLLL.net in 1-2 years... PM me and let me know what you have regged....

Thanks
Tom Dahne

After premium LLLL.coms cost $250+ and tripple premium LLLL.coms cost $50-150 it might be already worth reggin .nets -if you take the average 1/10th assumption (1 com= 10 net), the premium .nets shall cost $25+

In regards to the 10% pricing of .nets in relation to .com, I think LLLL.nets are going to be an exception once they're sold out. Take, for example, a name like xzvq.com. I think we could all agree an anti-premium name like that would currently be worth no more than $30 to another domainer. If we go by the 10% rule, that means xzvq.net should fetch no more than $3 if it's sold two and a half months after all LLLL.nets are gone. I don't think the 10% rule will hold true for LLLL.nets; it's foolish to think that any LLLL.net -- even a crappy one -- will be worth less than reg fee once they're all sold out :imho:

I think that the 10% rule should hold when the .com is worth $300+. If the .com is not worth $300+, the .net having value is to controvercial. If a domain can't fetch $30 on the wholesale market, a large percentage of domainers don't want it.

rawandy did a complete scan in June 2007 and there was 46% registered.
jsp did a recent search and there was 47% registered.

Slow growth in registration in my opinion.

Sorry, I think it was me :) I regged about 20 VCVC.nets as a (very) long term investment.

What's the lowest .net regfee you guys saw around? I just spoted $4.99 at estDomains :)

Majority of quad-premium LLLL.com already cost $300
