New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

For those like greengambler that are ending auctions 5 days after they start it make sure you have a high starting bid.. People will post a bid just as time ends. Getting a very cheap domain.. I would have quoted the post but I'm on .mobi :)

but on the subject I just picked up clkr.net for cheap :) along with slly.net :)

Very good points dag. Rep added :)

I've started to put a 5 day max on all my forum auctions. It helps to expidite the auction and lets buyers know when it will be over. I say "Auction ends 48hrs after the final bid is posted or 5 days after the initinal bid was posted. Whichever comes first."
I was a bidder in an auction here a while back for multiple LLLL.com that had a fixed end time. It ended a few hundred dollars under what I would have bid because there was no "5 minute extension" clause for last minute bids. Since bidders often wait until the last second to post bids in fixed time auctions, you might want to add such a clause (if you haven't already) so as to get full market value - without extending the auction endlessly.

Just a thought.

How much are you all investing into LLLL.nets? Are you making it a sizable portion of your portfolio?

I'm having a hard time deciding between investing in revenue generating domains / LLLL.net / L-LL.com, etc.

I think it's best to diversify your portfolio and try to get the best deals that you can find rather than limiting your domains to fit a strict pattern. When you expand your portfolio, you minimize risk and maximize your potential should one particular investment domain suddenly shoot ahead of the others.
