Advices for the next auction

Well, sadly I won`t be watching it since it will be 6.30 AM here :'(

But I`d like to say that for the next one, I`d love the following:

1) it should last at least 3 days and no more than 7 days

2) the option buyout clause is something I really do not like, because in this way as a buyer I will never know how many domains will I have to pay and can`t concentrate on any because I don`t even know if I`ll get one....so it`s a total mess in my view. I`ll rather prefer the normal reserve price or o reserve and seller can`t change his mind once auction starts just as it is always been. That would ensure that buyers know what they are doing.

3) maybe poll the best time zone to end the auction?

With these suggestions, by no means I`m criticing the wonderful effort but simply trying to make a second better one :)

Good luck all !

looking at the (again ) rising prices in other venues, I think buyers missed a chance :hehe:
Thank you for the nice event!

It was a great attempt.
You've started something you can take ahead and really do wonders :)
I think reserves would be a great idea for the next one !

The pre-bid was like a reserve no?

Too bad the prices did not pick up, not enough buyers? And yes the buyout option means that you don't know how much you can put on the next domain or set. There has to be a better way.

agreed on reserves instead of the buyout clause. It looks weird seeing $10K+ bids on lots while the buyer can just pay $5 and not to sell. I think it makes the whole auction less serious.

Once again kudos for the first attempt, hopefully we'll see many more with better results :)

This was great for me.
I just recently joined NamePros (few months ago)
I didn't have 1 LLLL.com in my portfolio til the auction today.
I now join the ranks of some of the big dogs...just kidding!

1 question to anyone who holds any of these.
Is there a site that has some values on these 4 LLLL.coms?
I'm not sure how I did.
LOL
I might have bid a little high on the ones I won.
I'm not really sure.
Even if I did bid a bit high, I'm sure the x-tra $ I spent,
was well worth the wealth of knowledge I have gained
since being a member here!
Thx for the auction!
Red Rock!

I missed the auction unfortunately and just got on now to check the results...

I think the timing (right between Good Friday and Easter) hurt performance. I know alot of people (myself included) had things other than domaining on our minds lately...

Hi Red Rock, the 2 sites I'd recommend for keeping up with prices in the LLLL.com market are www.tdvr.com and www.4letternoob.com .

Has to be reserves or it won't work.
1. You spend all that time bidding and for $5 they buy it back
2. The bidders skip auctions they would have bid on because they don't want to spend money they don't have only to find out the bid wasn't accepted

Who cares about quantities of bids when the end result is not a sale of a domain. If the domain is skipped over because the reserve is too high then it shouldn't have been in the auction anyway. Or don't disclose the reserve until the end of the item's bids and then see if anyone wants it at reserve price if reserve wasn't met. Maybe someone will bid up. With the buyback 0% chance.

Auction wasn't a total failure but the format has no future and simply doesn't work. It doesn't discount the hard work
