LLLL.com in 5 years - Will it sell for $5000+

LLL.com's 8 years ago was available for 300 or less....

Will LLLL also dominate the industry in 5-10 years? what is you're thought?

Sounds like a pretty good business model they have going.

Sounds really funny to me. :D

Probably, yes they will

^ I agree, something's amiss on that "sale" (if BD's still owns it), IMHO. :guilty:

Regardless, there won't be anytime soon regular $X,xxx sales of random LLLL.com's ... between domainers (which I think is the basis for the O.P.'s original question here), in my view.

So BuyDomains.com bought it for $5000, and is selling it for $5000. Sounds like a pretty good business model they have going.

Asking Price - $5000

the truth is, they would only buy it from u for $5 lol,

this is very fishy .. we need to do more research on this domain and find out who the last owner was or if there even was one other then buydomains.com
:notme:

Yeah, this is fishy. I am not sure why they would pay $5000 for a domain they would be lucky to unload for $500 (on a good day).

From TDVR -

PRVN.com
Domain Name without extension:
PRVN
Sale Data:
03/19/2008
Sale Price:
$5000.00

Well, let us look at it this way:

LLL.com current minimum: (3character.com) $7300
@ 50% increase:
Year 1: 10950
Year 2: 16425
Year 3: 24637
Year 4: 36956
Year 5: 55434

While this is almost silly in it's simplicity, it is not too far from the historical trends.

1/26 of year 5 = 2132

Actually I consider 2008 a "lost" year due to economic woes, so
1/26 of 36956 = 1421, which would be my guess of the minimum LLLL.com value in 5 years.

Far too many wild assumptions in this post to list them all, so a general caveat : Your mileage may vary greatly.

:imho:

LLLL .com will take after LLL .org (and CVCV .com) in that the low-quality names will sell very cheap, while the "premium" names with "good" letters sell for much, much more.

I asked someone for a quote of their quad premium (not pronounceable) and it was almost $6000. So in 5 years, quad premiums will probably be in the XXxxx range (end user).

Righto, End users are much, much different than Wholesale "Quick Sales" ... and "Asking prices" are not necessarily indicative of future sales / prices, as well IMHO.

Which LLLL.com did you recently purchase for mid $X,xxx wholesale ... and from whom are the current offers, including the standing $12,000? IYHO. :gl:
Thanks for the details and insight.

With domaining becoming more mainstream everyday, China having surpassed the US in per capita time spent on the net, the argument of low quality or bad letters is out the door. What's unusable in English, is highly useful in other languages. This being said, considering the increased usage of the net in 5 years from now vs. the set number of LLLL.com domains - the logical conclusion is that they will have to increase in value. It's a simple supply-demand ratio.
My (conservative) prediction:
mid-high $xxx for any LLLL.com
low-high $x.xxx for double letters
mid-high $xx.xxx for pronouncable ones

Similar to when i bought my CCC.com domains for $9.95 about 4 to 5 years ago - we all know where they stand nowadays.

I expect good chance for low-end LLLL.com to reach or pass minimum price for CCC.com within the next year or 2.

But I'd be surprised if minimum price for CCC.com went much above $1000 in the next 5 years. (Possible though, if prices go up a steady 40% per year.)

We should have someone do some investigation, I dont have the tools to find out who the last owner was, since the $5000 sale! This is very fishy and if buydomains.com is involved in bidding on there own domains... this would make me sick! and they should be exposed... either way.. it makes no sense... so far the fact remains that the domain was sold for $5000 and it is available for purchase for $5000!!!!!
