.mobi LinkShare.com gets its .mobi domain in a WIPO

The pioneer in online affiliate marketing LinkShare.com – with over 10 million partnerships – has won its .mobi domain in a WIPO case.
The panel concluded that the domain name LinkShare.mobi is confusingly similar to complainant’s registered LinkShare Marks. The respondent – Joseph Obringer from Glenview, Illinois, USA – has chosen not to respond to the complaint. The panel concluded that Obringer has no rights or legitimate interest in the disputed domain name and that respondent registered and used the domain name in bad faith. Therefore the panel ordered that the disputed domain name LinkShare.mobi has to be transferred to complainant.

No surprise. And no surprise the respondent did not respond.

Surely would be nice if LinkShare and CJ got in the mobi game.

Somehow, I think they just might.

I take that back...THEY WILL. They are in the marketing and promoting business to make money. In time, if not already, they will see the dynamics of .mobi. Many of their advertisers I am sure will want this capability or perhaps are offering it on their own.

CJ has eBay and Expedia and many other big name advertisers. When you get those big boys promoting their toys on the web in a .mobi format, it only makes sense that LinkShare and CJ will want a piece of the pie...cake...pasta...vino...

There is no CJ.mobi possible, so I dont think they will be in the .mobi game.

(btw biggest .mobi registrar GoDaddy is a major CJ client...)

Considering what happened with Helsinki it makes me wonder... I can't even imagine the feeding frenzy if LL.mobi came out. I tried for a pile of them in landrush just in case they screwed up LOL! No such luck.
