I think this name carries great potential as an entry point to a website with software programming tips. Being a programmer myself, I could toss some healthy development effort into it.

How much do you guys think it's worth? I'd personally guess about $175 reseller and $500-$1500 for the right end-user.

Any other clever development ideas?

I should add, the domain name was initially registered in Feb. 2000, though the creation date has reset since I drop-caught it.

Maybe not so much a site about programming tips, but maybe host a bunch of commonly used codes, cheat sheets, and stuff like that - things that a lazy programmer would want so all he has to do is edit something rather than write the whole thing.

I'm not very good with appraisals, but I think it could do well if it's developed in a good way.

That's an awesome idea. And I wiki-fy it, I could help create a cohesive community.

i agree. the first thought that came when i seen this name was literally: "oh it can be loaded with ready scripts, awesome name!". i would think of $200-$250 for the reseller. But it is much better to develop than to let it go at reseller price.

I like this name a lot, but for me LazyDeveloper.com would be more appropriate ;)

Low $XXX - Mid $XXX

My first impression was laughter. Any domain that can do that is ripe for the picking. And I disagree that lazydeveloper would be more appropriate; lazyprogrammer has more meaning and sounds better.

Idea: A site devoted to reusable code. Programmers (and IT people in general) are inherently lazy because we hate doing anything twice.

I am saying to me personally it would be more appropriate, because I am a developer who is lazy.

Great domain definitely xxx$ reseller and end user higher, could be worth a lot more.

Looks like we have a consensus. After a crack at some brief market research it doesn't look like there exist any professionally-built, well-organized, comprehensive repositories of grab-n-go, resuable code snippets; I could only find handfuls of domain-specific code served off personal homepages. So I agree, there's a very interesting opportunity here.

I also like LazyProgrammer.com more than LazyDeveloper.com. The former sounds very approachable, whereas the latter seems to conjoin an informal word with a stiffer one. Also, a "software developer" generally refers to a programmer engaging in the textbook-inspired engineering process within a professional setting. "Programmer" sounds more general IMO.

Thanks for all your help, domainers.

lazydeveloper is pretty good too. :) It has broader meaning -- like the developers who developed the suburbs where I live.

One thing is for sure... it'll never end-up being a recruitment site!!
