Late reply notifications?

Since the upgrades, I've notices that reply notifications seem to go out in batches every few days instead of continuously as postings occurred. Today I received about 20+ for postings made several days ago.

Bug? New batch processing? personal setting?

vb3 defaulted everyone to weekly email notifications. I'm considering just disabling this for everyone that is still set to weekly, but I wasn't sure if anyone actually likes getting them on a weekly basis. I don't.

I think it would be a good idea to completely disable it. The weekly notifications are, to put it bluntly, useless. You recieve a huge batch of sometimes upto 100 emails, I didn't even look at them when I got them, simply deleted them.

I noticed this - the default shouldnt be weekly, because you wake up and find xx emails waiting for you - which you simply delete.

I try to manage my subscriptions in my user panel, which I didnt have need to before the upgrade. Not a big problem for me though.

I say disable it, cuz I find it annoying to get old post that I've read over and over already in my box.

I agree that feature in vbulletin was poorly conceived. Instead of it sending 100 different posts to a single user, it should send ONE email to the user that lists all the user's subscribed threads that have new posts.

For the time being, I've disabled the weekly notifications on anyone who still had them turned on.

Well, it took a week to notification of the reply. I knew I hadn't changed anything, but didn't realize there was a default. I've changed mine back to instant.
