Here's the list of today scanned LLL.es. Should be of some interest to forum members..

was extremely hard to get because there is only web whois (often with captcha) for spanish zones..

Many names in ES zone are reserved, that means they are impossible to register, many LLL.es also are reserved.

If you check Google results for domains in ES zone (by query site:es) you will see that many spanish websites have 3 leter domains.. and also there are some sales of LLL.es, available on DNJOURNAL.

These in the list attached below are 99% available to register. only 3351 left (from 17576).
Though I would advise to check those domains you liked through www.nic.es additionally.

Prices for these domains vary, from 7 euro at spanish registrars, up to 27 euros at EURODNS or DOMAINDISCOUNT24.

no, you don't need to have presence in Spain in order to register spanish domain.
Anyone can take'em.

DOTSTER.com allows to register spanish .es names just for 20$/year.

Nice list! 2 domains reg'd at Dotster (though I haven't gotten final confirmation yet, so I'm not saying which ones they were). Rep + and 50 NP$ sent.

OK - one of the domains I reg'd at Dotster was LGN.es. LGN is the Spanish acronym for Liquid Natural Gas, so it should have a good future.

The other 3-letter .es domain, which I registered at the same time, still hasn't appeared in my account (two days later). Guess I'll have to retry it.
