news LAPD shoots homeless man during a struggle 5 or 6 times (Thoughts?)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
I came across a video today that was recently released from an event that is becoming very controversial. The feelings of disbelief are so strong that I shared it on FaceBook and now sharing it here to see what others think.
Wow..... LAPD kills homeless man with 5 or 6 shots while he's on the ground being held by other officers. There was a struggle, but shooting the man once, let alone 5 or 6 times (killing him) was very excessive and uncalled for. it's these types of clips that blow my mind and have me questioning the ones that are paid to serve and protect us sometimes. One shot may be an accidental discharge, but 5 or 6? really?
Watch the video: https://www.facebook.com/eric.lyon.399/posts/10155158125895276?pnref=story
KTLA5 reports: Officers were dispatched to the area of East Sixth Street and South San Pedro Street (map) about 11:36 a.m. after a report of an altercation between two people, said Officer Jack Richter, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

After the officers arrived a struggle ensued, during which police tazed a man, the LAPD said. The man was then shot by police, the department said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
What are your thoughts? Could it of been handled differently?

It's easy for 'armchair quarterbacks' to share their 'thoughts/opinions' on things like this, but until they put on the uniform and live the experience, they have no grasp of the reality that is happening in split second real time.

Posts like this just add more gas throwers than solutions or informed answers.

I was pulled over once, at gunpoint.

It was scary, because at the time I did not know why... all I knew was that an officer without his lights on made a U turn down a 1 way street and put his spotlight on my car - no sirens, no other lights. It was very unusual, so I knew something was wrong.

I pulled over, rolled down all of my windows, turned on all interior lights, put the keys on the dash visible to the officer, and put both hands on the steering wheel, and as the officer approached I calmly let him know that he had the wrong person, but I would completely comply, and he could cuff me if it meant putting his firearm away.

Good thing... because he was a rookie clearly afraid for his life as he approached; I could almost hear him shaking.

Within 2 minutes there were 10 police cars and at least 20 officers around my car.

It turns out the police got a tip that someone in a white Escalade was shooting an assault rifle in the major metro downtown area; which is where I was at that moment, driving in my white Escalade.

I gave them full permission to search the car, was calm, complied, and was out of there in 15 minutes.

After that, when a police officer would approach my car to pull me over (for nothing valid of course) they would break away and move along; which happened three times. They must have put something in their database about what happened, and won't pull me over for nonsense.

On that night, I am 100% sure that If I was whining about 'my rights' and was making a scene about how I was 'innocent' I would have been shot in the face. I was calm, it took a matter of minutes, I got an apology, the officer shook my hand, and we were both on our way.

If you encounter a police officer, just answer politely, move slowly, speak clearly, accept that you are being arrested or getting a ticket, and fight it out in court; not on the streets. In just about every shooting or death someone decided to fight the police, or 'make a point', and it cost them their lives.

The only incidents I saw recently that were completely unwarranted, was the body slamming of the older Indian man who could not speak English. If you can't speak the language, you can't comply, so the officer broke his neck. That officer was arrested. The other was a true tragedy in NYC where the officer was afraid, in a stairwell, and he just shot the first black man that came down the stairway; NYPD will be compensating that family big time. There is no real compensation for loss of mobility, or loss of life... what more can be said about just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Stay safe friends.

They just MURDERED an innocent man and all you can say this^. Good grief. You must have no moral compass. (maybe you should become a thief & murderer, i mean cop)

Cops are pieces of SH*T, Worst scum on the planet.

Shame on you, and these murderers.

SHAME ON YOU! for painting with such a broad brush.

Thanks for your flawed sentiment. You just disrespected my father and I would not be able to sleep tonight if I didnt respond to you. People who know me, know that I would I'd tell you this to your face too..

My dad, a cop for over 25 years, never harmed a hair on anyone's head. Yet he risked his life every day for people where he served. He was shot at, had rocks thrown at him, was spit on....... just for walking his beat. Not even interacting with anyone. He handled every one of them by the book.

He went to work every day to put food on my plate and me through college and every single day he was the target of scumbag criminals, gangs...... but I guess they're not AS BAD AS the scumbag police. Meanwhile my mom didnt know if he'd come home that night....... for 25+ years.

Want to paint some more? OK, you forgot:

Teachers.... Clergy...... Daycare workers........ neighbors......... extended family members........... postal employees.......... Boy Scout leaders....... bosses....... add anyone else you want, here.

NONE of these groups of people ever murdered nor harmed a hair on anyone else heads, right? Especially children.

There are good and bad EVERYBODY out there in the world. Becoming a cop doesnt make them perfect. Becoming a priest doesnt make someone perfect. Becoming a teacher doesnt make someone perfect. People are who they are. And I am saying this not know one ounce of FACT from the case in question. And you do not have one ounce more of FACT than I do. All you have is opinion.

There are a lot of people out there just waiting to catch a cop doing something wrong. No one reports on the thousands who do great things every single day. They only take videos like this one, quite possibly leaving out a heck of a lot of details that led up to the moment that they began recording.

Yea, you hit a nerve and you got me pissed. But you're entitled to your opinion. It doesnt mean your opinion is right though. And I guarantee that you're probably not perfect either.

Have a nice day.

PS - why dont you go for a ride-along with the police one night. Dont do it in a well to do area...... go to one of these areas that you see on the news where the cops are targets for being killed. See how long you last.

Again, considering how many police there are in this country, the incidences of an officer actually using his gun is quite low.
Look at FBI stats, police department stats.
And hey, good cop story is not news!
Bad or possibly bad cop story is great news!
I have known many cops over my lifetime, a lot of them family or friends.
Stories they tell would make any smart man think twice about becoming a cop.
And look at how many cops are killed each year by bozos.

My apologizes to anyone I offended, my family and neighbors personal experiences with the police are not good at all. I'm sure there are good cops, but unfortunately I've gone from believing that cops were hero's, to finding out how violent, rude, accusing, and harassing they can be.

We are living in a deliberately scripted psy-op. Yes, real events and tragedies happen, however, the media is used to divert and funnel collective attention towards what the criminal elite want us to see. Events are falsified (Gulf of Tonkin for example) then propagated. Others are actually orchestrated (Katrina) We are purposely steered away from news and info that is liberating, empowering and enlightening and force-fed the globalist propaganda in the papers and on the screens. Anyone new to false flag events should examine Operations Northwoods.

Why do the powers that lurk behind the veil only want dumb or average intelligenced "officers of the peace" - Well because the geniuses can see through the smoke and mirrors. Imagine if all military/police truly was doing what is best for the people? Monsanto would be banned and literally thrown out of the US (as this has happened in several countries). The banksters who print money out of thin air and loan it out with interest to the government would be eradicated. There would be transparency about the true history of this planet and disclosure and implementation of high technology that renders fossil fuels obsolete. Disclosure will certainly lift some of the collective confusion. We probably will see disclosure on a global scale relatively soon. It is alright happening.

Video Breakdown
Positives: Larger cop realizes the advantage, drops his baton, gets hit in the face, and forcefully/rightfully subdues the suspect with his bare hands. Well done officer.

The sergeant quickly subdues the brittle looking person who grabs the baton using minimal force. Well done sergeant.

20 seconds into the video, I can't tell if that's a taser or a gun the cop is holding, but it looks like (also sounds, but I can't tell if that was other background noise) the cops tasered the man resisting. Granted there were four cops surrounded and mounted on the man, a taser would have been the maximum acceptable force here without putting other in danger with stray bullets, and of course the little threat the homeless man was showing given the position he was in.

Negatives: Six Cops around, and six shots fired at homeless man

I couldn't tell where the first shot came from, or weather or not it was a neglegent discharge. You can see the cop who was holding the feet with his gun drawn, believed to be the shooter. Rather than placing his weight on the back of the homeless mans kness (prevents the man from rolling and protects you from getting kicked) he tries to hold the mans flailing foot, and out of no where (begins shooting)

Man is shot at :27 seconds, and they don't check on the man until 1:47 seconds. Granted they just shot him 6 times, but one would think after realizing there isn't a threat to apply pressure, and a tourniquet if applicable to the wound until paramedics arrive.

With all this media reporting on police brutality and brutality against officers, it is easy for us armchair quarterbacks to express our opinions because we (non cops) can relate to the victim as if one day we find ourselves subdued by cops, we would want it performed correctly. Therefore, video and these debates are the best way to defend our futures. I'd like to believe that in these tragedies comes constructive critism, as police forces around the country can go over this footage acknowledge what was done correctly, and what wasn't. Just like in sports how athletes review film, cops need to do the same. They police us with guns, and we police them with video cameras.

It's nonsence to go on and on about the isolated incidents of two cops shot at point blank after a media outbreak of police brutality. It's simple we the majority, don't condone police brutality nor do we condone injustice against police officers.

My biggest gripe about this video was how it only took them 20 seconds to shoot the man and 4 times that amount to administer aid. Even in the controversial video from South Carolina last year when a man was shot after reaching in his car for his ID, the police office subdued the man, and once realizing the man was hit, immediately called for an ambulance and administered the aid he could until they arrived.

I had an issue with an officer at the airport once, I made a formal complaint and ended up in mediation. It is a real eye opener to sit down with an officer and listen to them explain their actions. Basically, and this is what I was told straight from the horses mouth, cops are trained to protect themselves, not the public. He explained to me how training focuses upon how unstable any and every situation can be and the absolute number one concern is for thew officer to make it home to their family that night- again, this is essentially verbatim from the officer. He spoke of a technique he was taught, I forget the name now but it was something like, "synchronized threat response," which means that when someone is getting more aggressive, the officer MUST increase hie aggressiveness. I don't think the officer explained it very well, I don't think he understood it very well was actually the issue. By the end of the mediation he had blatantly showed himself to be a racist by saying I that he could tell I was, "not one of them, I could tell by your skin color," referring to being a terrorist.
Last thing of interest, almost the entire time he stared into my chest. After about an hour I called him out and said, "Look at you, you can't even look me in the eyes!"
His response was amazing. He explained to me that he had been trained to look at the chest because it their was ever to be an agressive action taken by me he would see it in my chest first..... Holy shit this guy thought he was Jason Bourne!

I live in Denver, terrible terrible cops here (amongst all the fantastic ones). There are constantly issues with police brutality and excessive force here- there was an incident recently where DPD shot and killed a 15 or 16 yr old girl who had stolen a car.

To protect and serve.... seriously?

News outlets reporting positive pro-enlightenment news are greatly needed as the shift of power continues to decentralize from the globalists.

The mainstream media is essentially a branch of the bankster military-industrial-complex. Most stories clearly push an agenda to polarize the people and this topic is a main talking point for now.

Finding random acts of kindness by cops is not a problem, or at issue.

The problem is virtually every Police DEPARTMENT studied, from New York to L.A., Chicago to Miami, and all the little Ferguson's in-between, have shown serious unjust police practices - in everything from traffic stops to the use of force.

The fact that police are 'polite' to some does not excuse them being nasty, and often deadly, to others... they don't like. THAT is the issue! Its called JUSTICE!

"Walk in the shoes" of the thousands wrongfully convicted; including those released from death row (six in 2014 alone --all of them Black).

Ask yourself... how many "good cops" helped overturn the wrongful convictions of "bad cops"? (who put people in prison -on average for 14 years -before being released)?

The answer is NONE! -- Not think a single one... as most, if not all, wrongful convictions are overturned by "Activist" citizen groups.

Here is an example of one that's indisputable. And indisputable leads to charges

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/08/u...ged-with-murder-in-black-mans-death.html?_r=0

I'm curious what the state of the officer's brain was.
"Put your hands behind your back"...after he's shot him 8 times in the back? WTF?

I have been in the presence of a policeman holding a gun at a member of public at a supermarket. What I can tell you is that I feared for my life because he was nervous as hell.

Pretty much sums it up to me.

It's pretty sickening, then there was the homeless man in NM that was murdered by cops, the 22 year old murdered in WalMart by cops, the 12 year old in Cleveland murdered by cops, "I can't breathe" Eric Garner etc. etc.

Did you know if your IQ is too high you can be rejected for that reason when applying to be a police officer?

The NM incident exposed a very corrupt police dept - one of the cops who fired at they guy announced before he got there he was going to kill the homeless man

and here is the video of the walmart shooting, basically someone lied to 911 and got a guy killed for walking around with a pellet gun (still in package) at Walmart

Yes it is possible to be too smart to be a
"peace officer" sadly.. I first learned about it many years ago when I read about this happening to a man in Minnesota

Ah, the conspiracy types come out the woodwork.

Generally these types of cases involve a few of the following:
crime being committed
not listening to police officers
resisting arrest
coming at them with a weapon

This one had all 4. If you come at a police officer with a knife, you're probably going to get shot/killed. They tried the stun gun, didn't work.

There are actually other cases I have more a problem with. Remember seeing one mentally handicapped person with a knife with like 10 police officers surrounding him and they shot and killed him. Was thinking that was a time to use the stun gun, that department didn't have any. There is no excuse for that. Write some more speeding tickets or something, get some non-lethal force.

Forgot to add, saw something about firing more than once. That's generally a good practice. If you're at home and had a gun and somebody broke in and they had a gun, would you fire just once and hope that did the trick? This type of stuff happens fast, you're probably going to let off a few rounds. Some might miss, you might hit them and they can still be moving. If you're moving, you're still a threat. You have every right to defend yourself whether you're the police or just hanging out at home.

If somebody came at you with a knife, would your moral compass let them stab you to death? Does that sound like a reasonable plan?

It took 6 of these P.O.S. cops to beat this man, and then they tasered him, then they murdered him.

...... your point is ridiculous.

Cops are pieces of SH*T, Worst scum on the planet.

Cheeses Christ man! Cops are actually meant to protect and serve. Our hatred, yes mine too - just nowhere near as yours, comes from either (a) a few bad officers who disrespect the uniform and (b) injust laws they swear to protect.

Besides (a) and (b), cops are great. They sign up for a dangerous job, and put their lives on the line every day. The legal system, however, has some fine tuning to do if they except civilians to respect the law the police are under oath to protect.
