I'm just wondering why all or most L-L and N-N domains are all gone. I was searching for such domains but most of them are taken? Even in extensions such as:

.TV
.mobi
.cc
.ws
and most ccTLD

Do they hold a great value?

They're gone because they're extremely rare. Their value derives from their rarity.

Do the math, the number of L-L.com domains is 26^2 = 676

N-N.com are even rarer since there are only 10 digits (compared to 26 letters). The number of N-N.com domains is 10^2 = 100.

So if you own ONE N-N.com, you own 1% of them.

I did do the math. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Wow...you explained that eloquently in very basic arithmetic way. I know they are rare. What i'm asking is the value of such domains? I haven't seen any sales of such domain. How much do they worth in extension such as .biz, .cc, .ws, .tv, .mobi, etc,..?

There is talk in the One-Ugly-Domain thread that lists N-N.com's at $650. That should serve as some insight, I hope :)

Cool. My autobio is still pending.

Once things are hard to come by, they increase in value. I bought a L-L.com for $1 on eBay a few years back by a guy who sold several dozen (maybe hundred) at $1 each. Oh how I wish I bought them all at that price. lol I'd have at least $10,000 in my bank account.

L-L.com for $1 what a buy..do you think it will increase the value even in .cc. I know .cc isn't doing that great and i'm not sure if i should hold on to it. I have L-L.cc (same letters) and N-N.cc (same numbers)

Currently, .cc's are very, very poor... I don't think LLL.cc could make a person much profit at the moment. Assuming a .cc is worth 1-2% of a .com (I cannot recall the exact percentage) and a N-N.com is worth $650, then a N-N.cc would be worth $6-12. I dunno. I bought some NNN.cc's for $10 each recently and resold each for $50. I consider that to be pretty good. I don't see .cc ever becoming much of a player.

It obviously isn't completely based on rarity as according to 3character.org L-L.coms are worth more than N-N.coms

These are for the most part purely reseller domains though. People buy them because they are rare, essentially to collect them... I cant imagine a business operating a website at q-k.com anything is possible, but still :)

I agree to an extent: There IS a popular L-L.com. Go to www.m-w.com :)

Are you talking about domains like 1-1.info 1.1.net for instance?
I'l post a thread with some for sale if ya like..
At least some with N-L ...

They are all taken, because there are only 100 possible combinations.

N-N.TVs are premium registrations I believe.
You can't register .WS names with less than 4 characters. All are reserved.

Most valuables are N-N.coms which go for $650 minimum.

I personally had few N-N.INFO and N-N.BIZ sales of $50 each. It depends on the cobinations.

Good combos = 0-0/1-1/2-2/3-3/4-4/5-5/6-6/7-7/8-8/9-9 also combos such as 0-1/1-2/3-4/4-5/5-6/6-7/7-8/8-9

If you can acquire them and have the money to renew them as needed, they might be worth holding on to. But as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, C-C domains are mostly a commodity. I've seen www.m-w.com in use but I can't think of another developed C-C

Another that is kinda in use is h-d.com for harley-davidson.com. L-L and N-N (especially L-L) have had a great run recently and there don't seem to be signs at this time of their run slowing any time soon.
