Definitely try pitching it to a KKK organization, or even another radical group such as the Black Panthers who might find a use in turning it into a Anti-KKK website.

That's great if you want to make a buck and keep the hate going.
What will a Black Panther group do with it? Create hate in some young blacks. What will the Klan do with it? the same?

This name is doomed unless you change the perception of it. And even then it will take time.

Radiator is right. For our age group there is only one perception for this acronynm.
But, ask a group of 12-17 boys what kkk is and I bet they are less likely to think what we do. The klan isn't what it was and it never will be. I really think this domain can be successfully used positively.
Why give it back to a hate group?

I'm certainly ok with anyone owning the domain KKK.org, even the radical organization itself. Who ever owns it, is welcomed to do with it as they will.

I feel the same way with religious domain owners and organizations spreading religious hate on their websites as well. People are welcomed to believe what they want, no matter how crazy their ideas and beliefs may be. Who am I to judge? For me to tell those I don't agree with that their ideas are stupid, is just wasting my energy, and it most likely will just enrage them and make them more hateful. Isn't that also spreading hate as well? To be strongly "anti" against something is just spreading reverse hate towards that same group you don't agree with.

There will always be people and websites with opposing views. What's the use in trying to block them all and prevent them from having their own constitutional rights to free speech? As long as no one is being harmed physically, then I'm ok with it.

I don't care what words the KKK have to say on a website they own, or what message their trying to get across. They're entitled to believe what they do, no matter how crazy and idiotic I find it to be. I don't condone the number of people who were killed by the KKK, just as I don't condone the number of people who have been killed throughout history by religious institutions.

The best way to make the Klan history is to re-brand KKK. KKK.org is a valuable name and its value must not be underestimated by the incident that these three letters were associated with a bunch of thugs. IMHO.

KKK also stands for KAPPA KAPPA KAPPA, a men's fraternal organization at Dartmouth College. Kappa Kappa Kappa is also the name of a philanthropic sorority in Indiana who have held a trademark on "KKK" since 1977.

Everything I've said in this thread is just my perspective, and thoughts on this domain, coming from a guy who has many black friends, and who is part black. I just find it ultimately funny the double standards people love to have in the name of feeling "justified" as if their doing something to give back to the black community or something. I even talked to two of my black friends about this same domain, and both of them said they probably would try to sell it to the white pride organization for laughs. You have no need to try to tell someone their stupid, racist, or heart-less because they don't agree with your ideas, or to tell someone their going to lose business because you don't agree with or understand their viewpoints. Some here have honest and sincere feelings regarding hate groups. You can judge them any way you choose, but they gave their unadulterated opinions to you and if you don't understand that, I guess there is nothing else to say to you.

I am not as "politically correct" as some here so I see your appraisal request as more humourous than serious.

And no need to give me the "why, some of my friends are black" or "gee, I'm part black" to justify you're willingness to sell a name to a hate group. That is akin to a Jewish person selling HitlerWasRight.com to a neo-nazi organization.
