Would someone please explain how to find out how many times per day, week, and month a keyword is searched for on Google.

I hear people on this forum talking about this keyword or that keyword has a 700 person google search per day, I'd really appreciate the answer on how and where to find this data.

Regards,

FS

You will need to change the search field the [exact] as this will make sure that only the words you include in the exact order are considered, as opposed to broad which could be completely irrelevant.

There seems to be some discrepancy however between the old version which I prefer and the new, so you will have to be aware of that.

You also cannot see how many searches per da it is, but general rule of thumb is to divide by 30 :)

For keyword search research on Google you should use the Google Keywords Tool.

I see another reply was made as I was typing mine in...

My link is for the old version of the tool. If you are going to export keywords to Excel you may find that works better and gives you more to work with, but that is more important for SEO that domain reseach.

While I sometimes look at exact matches, broad and phrase are important in fact I think exact and phrase should be looked at together since the are an exact match of the keywords in the same order, but phrase includes one or more extra words. Broad match is ok for SEO and maybe for domains because search engines will also provide results for inexact or near matches, but after the more relevant exact or near matches.

Please tell me what the "local" monthly search number represents. Is this local to the US or what geographic area does this refer to?
