KeyWord Domain, Why They Valuble?

I just saw some keyword domains reged almost by all major TLD's

Eg: discountdigitalcamera.info (Available to Register)

why? do they have any value?

I say yes, if somebody really want it. But for recover your cost for register domain you can park the domain or develope it.

Because of search volume and they are great from an SEO stand point.

On top of that they make much more sense than a slang version or brandable name for a mini-site.

yes I agree. It makes more sense to reg keywords that are already being searched for than keywords that is made up.
