Hi everyone,

Example:
If companysoftware.com is unavailable, is it worth to buy companysw.com????

The abbreviation SW is largely used everyday in the world in any sector and at all level.

Thanks for your opinion.

In my own opinion many people would not know that "sw" is a abbreviation of "software", or not straight away, especially if a potential customers casually glances at the name of the company when seeing an advertisement.

I hope this helps

Don't know sw as software ( I think southwest). Check to see if companysoft.com is available, imo.

Well, it seems that SW isn't widily used in name domains.

Maybe comapnysw.com stands better for companystationwagon.com .... meaning the company car!!! :P

Isn't available! Thanks!

company.IO or even .xyz , if G can go with abc.xyz then why not ..... :) get both, .xyz is just $1 at namecheap

or
or as @420domainer suggested ... companysoft.com

HEEEMMM... for business purpose is recommended, perhaps dangerous, to use other extensions.

This might seem obvious but, "company.com" isn't available, right?

I'm also not aware of "sw" to stand for software. I believe "wares/warez" is a trendy abbreviation, that could work.

Try company.software or companysoft.com or companyware.com

Strong preference is for .software

... for illegal software!!!

Wikipedia: "Warez are copyrighted works distributed without fees or royalties, and may be traded, in general violation of copyright law."

If the name must include 'software' as a suffix and the .com is taken then .software has to be on top of the list.

Better to have elite.software as apposed to elitesoftware.io

Word software as suffix or as tld, seems to suggest, an actual software rather than a business, just like .app. Adding software to name seems 'unpolished' as it is uncommon. CompanySoft or CompanyTech seems better, as they are already in common use, while .software or .tech, though nice ( .tech > .software) are still not mainstream, At the moment, depending on what the software company is into, .io is accepted more than .software/.tech/.solutions/.systems but with G using abc.xyz, maybe mindset will change faster and these tld will be more acceptable, though there is a risk of user going to company.com, best to use a unique name, than to try and find some suffix or tld to fit. There are tons of .com brandables which might seems bit steep at $2K but will be worth in long term.
