Just created a PDF Resume site...

Hi all,

I just launched a very early version of my new site, www.pdfresume.net

I built it with the Paypal IPN, so a user sends me $49.99 and gets a PDF resume for the rest of their life.

I custom built the site to allow them to modify their resume details, and choose the design of the resume, and it will generate the PDF for them.

I plan on posting to Craigslist to see if I can find some people in the USA to sign up.

Has anyone ever built or owned a site like this?

Do you have any suggestions for me?

Congratulations on your site. Try to market your site online thru social media and social networking sites. Build a buzz about your site and traffic will follow.

I also like the projects section of metafilter. It costs $5 to become a member of metafilter, but the feedback you get and connections (can be) extremely valuable.

Market your site and digg it more into Social Netwoking sites and build online profiles that can make more visible.

It offers it automatically free.

Also, there are adobe software that does it for free too. I don't think your product is a sell.

Because when people can get it for free...you are charging $50.

I'm aware of that. However being able to store it for life, and with new resume templates added each month, I hope some will see the value in it.

Watch out for posting on Craigslist though, the users will flag your posts within an hour usually and within about a day you'll be banned.
