Hey guys, I just bought gangsters.ws, hoping it will turn out some decent revenue. Opinions? Estimated Sale Price?

I think the .ws extension never took off so the name is basically worthless without development imho.

Gangsters.ws

Although the keyword is a strong one, it is followed by the weakest extension. The .ws TLD (western samoa) lacks almost complete value and should be just about avoided at all costs. The reason the domain was available was for this reason. Regarding value? Unfortunately none. The real question is this, have you ever typed in a domain name that ends in .ws - the answer should be no (there is a slight chance it may have happened).

I would recommend not picking up anymore .ws due to the above reasons and the stigma attached to the TLD. Stick with "accepted' TLD's and you will still find some Gems out there hiding. You may yet find a buyer - but experience tells me its unlikely.

Good luck! If you find this appraisal helpful, Rep Points are always welcome.

I've always had good luck with developed .ws sites.. I don't view the ext as being overly weak, just underappreciated. Great keyword.. the only problem with the ext is it will require branding as many are unaware the ext exists as yet. There's been alot of promotion for .ws as "website".. it may just catch one one day. Still lots of good .ws left!

Thanks for the replies :)

There's a few undeveloped .ws sites on sedo that are going for an ok price. as long as I make a profit, I'll be alright. And yes, the only real .ws site i go to is crackz.ws :D

man, everytime I feel like I've invested in a good domain, it turns out to be crappy :( maybe one day I'll get lucky, and find a needle in the haystack :)

To me the name isnt commercial enough, I've sold many .ws names, a couple over 1k and many between $50-$250 but my keywords were more commercial/product related.

Thanks Tippy. May I ask where you've had the most luck selling your domains?
