Just won the domain name Fosi. com at NameJet auction with 297 bidders.

Auction just ended now - Saturday.

Lucky for me there was no real back and forth bidding war since people probably busy with long thanksgiving holiday weekend.

What’s assessment of going rate for CVCV?

probably $2k to $3k for lower end cvcv

To me, Fosi looked very easy, clean, simple, fresh...definitely worth the extra money.

Quad premium CVCV. Highly brandable.
You don't see those daily.

I think it was a very reasonable price. I would have expected it to go for more.

Nice Name. I was there for a while. And I agree you got it for a steal because of thanksgiving holidays :)

quick question: When looking to buy domains, do you go with an idea of what you need in mind? Or do you just search through auction and buy when you see something good? Whats your buying strategy?
Hope my questions are not too difficult:happy:

i really have no idea what i am going to buy until i see it.

i just look thru expireddomains with $5000 minimum valuation...that usually brings the list down to less than 100 domains to sort thru which takes less than 10 minutes.

then i see if something catches my eye.

if i like something, i start doing research on the domain by looking at wayback machine to see how the domain was being used and how long the last owner owned it to see how long this domain has been off the market.

i like buying domains that have never been for sale on the market.

once i know i want this domain, i check namebio to see what price range these similar domains sell for so i have an idea what to pay

i also check to see when the auction is ending...
i like auctions ending on Saturday or holidays where there are less bidders...less people watching

then i set my alarm to 10 minutes before auction closes to make sure i don’t miss out

then i over pay to win the auction...
these days you have to over pay if u really like a domain name

it might seem like you’re over paying today but within couple years, it will feel like a bargain

and that’s my buying strategy and i’m sticking to it

You could probably do anything with it. Congratulations on the acquisition and I think the price was right.

Good luck with it.

Nice name! I think the price is good. You will always get your money back and freerolling for the end-user sale.

This can easily go for $50K minimum or $100K maximum.

Some old pirates might remember this name.
FOSI was a legendary site back in the day.
PROGRAMZ (ural.net)
A totally mirrored site.
Retired now but there were some great proggys, no crack, working serial, and clean (no nastys), ready to go.
And the guy had a great sense of humor.

Congrats on a great score, anunt.

Peace,
Kenny

I have a strong feeling that the domain will bring traffic and that would not be because of the website's history. It's just a hunch though.
Any chances you let us know whether it does? :)

btw. if it does have traffic , and if the visitors are looking for fiber optics, maybe it would be worthwhile to put some ads on it.

Dear @anunt congratulation for acquisition. It is really good and may give you multiple returns if sold to end-user. Best wishes...

Dear @Hypersot
I really admire your knowledge about parking and domain monetisation. Could you please explain how to monetise domain (not a fully developed website) if you find good traffic? I assume even the easy option Adsense also has a series of approval procedure which needs serious effort to build a website. Appreciate if you can suggest other possible alternatives where with simple one page one can get a good return.

Thanks in advance :)

Congrats. i am not in to 4L but isn't the price little high ?

Not all LLLL.com are created equal.
The cream of the crop is CVCV
(constant, vowel, constant, vowel)
They often sell for four figs; if not more.
